this is where i got mine. it doesnt metion db killers. i does say full power race type. which usually means it doesnt meet any db requirements. if you live where that is a concern i'd get the homogulated version.

Hey! That's my first post here, so I wanto to tell you something about me:
My name s Christoph an I am from Austria and I really like it here, one reason for that is that I can't find SO much information about the XChallenge elsewhere.

My Question: Is Nobody with a X and an Akrapovic here? To expensive?

The sound is not to loud and there is no popping or crackling on deceleration or opening it up full.

You didn`t get a noise test done at the same time did you? Do you reckon it`s quieter/noisier than the Staintune?.

Luckily, I still have a standard muffler, plus the original that has been de-catted, and shortened (complete with dents). This one is very noisy.

No noise test done though he did quieten it down and make it deeper with the different bits he was trying out.

It doesn't sound anywhere near as loud as yours on your ride past at Glorious that day but then again I havent been a bystander as it has gone past either.

Family or neighbours haven't commented on it yet and one neighbour is a right pain in the arse and complains about everything.

Has anyone tried a Supertrapp..? I'm looking at the Ids2 version,1 3/4 version,quiet core.

Supertrapp

I realize there it would need heat shields and a section of pipe, but thats something I can provide.
I'm just wondering about the sound and performance level.

Thanks

Different bike, and can for that matter, but I had a supertrapp superlight on my old ccm 604. With 8 discs in it sounded really nice, deep and a little bit loud but not antisocial. It ran well too. The only problem I had was melting cordura clothing once on the back of the can. It gets really hot where the discs direct the axhaust gases against the outer skin. It may not be a problem for some but I have to get my bike through a doorway and always brush against the can. I would end up with melted clothing if I fitted one on the xchallenge

Perhaps it is just me but the Remus looks like it fits better and it positioned to take up the room that taking the huge space OE pipe uses. It just looks more tucked in & up.

The Leo looks like it is hanging down and it looks like the side panel sticks out too far.

Perhaps it is just me.

I must be blind because I can not find your write up of the exhaust. How about posting a link to your write up.

I didn`t do a write up bro`, just mentioned that I had one.......and on going back through this thread, I can`t find what I thought I had written about it. I guess it`s in another thread (somewhere), there are so many about the Xc.....My apologies.

Anyhoo, the Staintune is nice and slim as can be seen in the photo, and they comply with ADR`s, but emit quite a bark when given a handfull. I like it, although it may be too loud for some tastes. It doesn`t have a removable bung as it has to comply with ISDE noise regs, which is a maximum of 94 decibles, I think. Staintune claim 92 decibles @3500 revs; not sure whether that is stationary or drive by. They are mechanicall baffled, which means no re-packing.
