Meet at the gas station on 215 in Balsam Grove, NC
Rolling out around 11. Big bikes, little bikes just remember: rocks, creeks, ruts, logs and hunting dogs, plenty of stuff to challange everybody.
ya'll come!

Terrain is extreme, but we will run a comfortable pace...leaves over rocks = ouchie

I'll see you there at 11:00 or before. I might stop for a late breakfast in Brevard somewhere.

Hmmm.

I thinkkkkk...I've been there before. Can't make it this time around but I'd love to join your crew sometime. Do the hillclimb for me, it's my favorite thing about Caney Fork.

hmmmm...

I doubt it will be that slimy as dry as its been. Very tempting.
Gripsters will still be better then Motard tyres.

What a perfect day to ride. 10 of us had a blast. I would like to extend our apologies for busting thru the newly constructed beaver dam. I had water on the tank of my DRZ! Here is a pic of Rooster getting wet.
64 miles of riding, probaly 45 in the woods!

We had quite a group today. Rooster, NCVulcan, Mdrake, Steve, Green river Rider (Shannon), Chris B., Mark on DR650, Mark on DRZ400, David on DRZ400 and mel brooks. We met at the Balsam Grove post office, then regrouped at the gas station on 215.

Rode up to the bald

Mike worked on his skid plate

Here's Shannon (Green River Rider)

Mark

Mike

Plowshare Hill…..

The leaves really hid the rocks, ruts and logs. Made for a very interesting ride today.

Steve sheared off a peg bolt in the rocks today….

But thanks to Mike's toolkit, he was able to patch it up enough to get back to his truck.

Then, we needed to make a water crossing. No big deal….

However, some industrious beavers had made the crossing a little bit deeper than David remembered….

It was an awesome ride today, and a big thanks to NCVulcan for taking us on some trails that I'd never been on before. Fun factor was very high.

Man, I am so bummed I missed this ride. Looks like you guys had an incredible time.

I could have used that water crossing to wash the CA desert dust off the new TE!

I hope you plan to do it again sometime soon... hint, hint.
