I don't know about you guys, but the GS isn't exactly perceived as a "pretty bike " anyway, so , then , then kiss my , and as Forrest Gump once said, "that's all I have to say about that."the shield works. it still gets enough air underneath to be good for hot days, its smoother, quieter, sturdier than the vario and I like it . Passenger reports much smoother ride as well. But, don't take my word for it, go ahead and try 2 or 3 other screens that don't work well (but are "pretty") first!!:):

thanks Arch, I was just having fun with all the cool smilies anyway...I think the GS is a very uniquely good looking bike myself, wouldn't have bought it if I didn't like the looks, same with the shield. To each his own.

Here are a couple of shots of CC's bike. There are also more in G-spot, here.

Oh yeah!
The Aeroflow is looking pretty damn sexy to me compared to the new Parabellum.

I don't think that the GS looks odd at all. It is a timeless design that just works. The Aeroflow shield detracts from the appearance of the bike. I picked up a Cee Bailey touring screen, and the buffeting is greatly reduced. And the screen looks good on the bike! It is still small enough to not be in the way while using the bike off road.
If you don't want any wind on you, go buy a Gold Wing.

Aeroflow is awesome!
I installed my tall aeroflow last week on my GSA, and the difference is fabulous. Well worth the $500 I had to spend on the screen and standard GS screen mounting hardware. Actually, I say that, but the thing is pretty damn expensive.
At any rate, it is awesome. Took it for a ride on the parkway without ear protection, and SO much better. Thought it might be too tall, but it's perfect. Fine in the twisties and great in the straights. I'm 6'0" and can see over the screen just fine. I've heard the seat is higher on the adv. Can't wait to head to the rally in WVA, which looks like my next long ride. Hopefully see some of you kids up there. The only problem I had so far, and I haven't had it in the heat, is that in the cool air, my helmet was fogging up, from lack of airflow behind the screen. This, I can deal with. Buffetting I cannot. Cheers... |

Yep, they work GREAT... only problem is the "pope mobile" is very delicate off-road and you will need to take it off if you expect to do any real thrashing. (Same with most FUNCTIONAL) wind screens. I'm looking to devise a way to "clip on/off" this set-up and have a practical way of carrying it (protected) with my gear. Thinking about cutting the tubes and inserting selves (above and below the fix points.)
I use them on R11GS and the mounting is to the case (brittle) head lamp bolts, so in any tumble, it breaks the headlamp bracket... real pain in the ASS to get to and replace.

Too ugly to use !
Yo guys,
I tried one or another screen. None of which looked cool. But THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is by far beyond ugly. It looks incorrectly mounted, if I want to put it VERY nicely ... Yes, the GS is not the best lookin bike (which happens to be a Ducati 916/998) but THAT is not fair !!! Please for the sake of a bike lookin like a bike, don't buy it !! Greetings from Germany, Kai!!!!

You make that supermodel thing sound so easy.
After a few hundred miles on the Aeroflow, I love it even more. Really is perfect for what I want it for. Next let's get some music on this thing. |

Wrong bike ???
Hi John!
I have the right bike ! The GS may hardly be the best at anything. But it's good at everything! I've done almost 80.000 km on my two GSes .... in less than 3 years. I ride onroads and chase those ducatis - they usually give up. I ride offroads and love it, even though it slashes my tires ... And I go onto holiday trips - alone or in pair like I'll go this weekend and what follows, Scotland is up - and my trustworthy GS has never let me down! I did not buy her for her beauty, but everything else. I know why I love her!
