Question Givi

I purchased a Givi windshield for my 1150GS on EBay yesterday for $67. I'm wondering how much they are new. Does anyone know?

i have a huge dilema...i dropped the bike a while ago...hit some pine needles in a turn at yosemite. anyway, the piece of plastic where the mounting bolt (the closest bolt to the rider) goes into is cracked. i almost took the thing apart to repair it, guess what...is glued on or something to that effect. i'm wondering if that piece can be bought? or do i have to buy the entire housing? i was wondering if a junk yard may have that. i have a 04 GSA, so i don't know if i can use a different year. yep, i crazy glued that damn thing but it's about to break off again, i'm sure. i can take pics and post them so you can see. yep, it was a nice fall. by the way, i'm 5'6", 30" inseam and the original shield is perfect. :-) yep, i can only tippy toe both feet at the same time. :-)

Is it the rounded triangular-shaped piece of plastic that the screen bolts onto? If so, these can be bought separately from any BMW dealer. I dont have the part number to hand, but they are pretty cheap.

To swap it, remove the screen, then you'll find another bolt which the screen was hiding, which you undo to remove the offending cracked bit.

Question Tobinators on a 1100 with 1100 varioscreen?

Sorry to drop in this thread this way but i have a question:

I only read good experiences with the Tobinators and I would like to try these out, but I already have a MRA (wunderlich) varioscreen for my ’98 1100GS and i don't won'tto buy a new one.

Is there anybody who tried the combination of a 1100 with a 1100 varioscreen and the tobinators? I don’t mind a modification with a Dremel or anything else as long as it works

This is a MRA (Wünderlich) varioscreen for the 1100. See www.mra.de.

And after a few mails with Tobers it works!

But when you now how to use a dremel and you now how to drill a hole I have good hope it will work with a GIVI to.

I know that this point has been made, but wnated to write it anyway. As I was waiting for my Tobinator, I put the windscreen all the way down till it rested on the number plate. Worked pretty good. But my Tobinator came in today, so it will be installed tomorrow.

Cool2 Tobinators make another Adventure rider happy

Just fitted the tobinators adn the difference is huge. Actually had the perfect setting straight away but couldnlt help tinkering and lost it - almost back to perfect and not game to fiddle any more ..until next time.

I'm 6'2" - fitted the adjustment bars at their highest setting and angled to line the rear bar with the join line on the cockpit module - ie slightly forward of pependicular - no turbulence and not too much wind noise - even better than the Rt

Puke Wind Noise vs Turbulence

After reading for the last 3 hrs about windscreens, I still have a couple questions. I hear the turbinators can stop turbulance (not being able to read the road signs) but doesn't really affect noise. What affects the noise then if not the turbulance? What would give me both solutions? I am 6'1.5" with a 34 inch inseam. I rode behind a aeroflow and it did stop the buffeting but in 95 degree weather I was starting to cook. Would a turbinator in combination with a cee bailey +4+3 euro give me all around abilities to correct for summer and winter riding? I ride fire roads and easy single track...planning trips to break the artic circle and play in the baha. I really dont want to be changing shields around but it sounds like that may be my best solution....ok...I am still confused.

Thx for any advice.
