belive me I reinforce it and everything,,but I quess I did not go far enogh,,or maybe is my big butt landing to hard on it.

Is a Lot of work, ahead to malke this bike more reliable,,I got a bunch of parts to fix the Footpeg issues,,CR250 mounts,,Fastway footpegs,,the only problem yeah right,is that nothing fiits or is even compatible,so i need to make everything else from scratch...

some day when I'm done I show you all...
Great stuff, Ricky. I love your attitude!

The subframe mounts are being loaded in compression and tension. And the stock BMW mounting tabs are so small that these loads tend to "rock" back and forth on the welds. It is almost a "can-opener"effect. If the mounts could be made much longer (like 4"+ or so) it would help a lot. They do not have to be thicker. If there is some way to wrap (at least part of) the subframe mount around the side, and dump the loads in shear instead of tension and compression that would be even better.

Keep your chin up. You all did great, and are an inspiration for many of the rest of us. Onya!

yeah full agrement there...but i will say is mostlly a tension load fro the upper mounts.

the next stage is to make the "main" mount in a very longitudinal and down way,,I also plan to make a "rap around'to the top of the frame

I also plan to use the longitudinal part of the frame to make a Gusset so I will be able to have at least two mounts, and prevent any side loads that can damage the frame

the Longitudinal part I refer too,is the segment on the right hand side, next to the broken part,is about 3" long and about 1 1/4'tall

The Carnage

actually was not to bad in my case, exept for the Broken sub frame mount, the bike was more or less ridable

I "re-fix" them today.but i need to figure out a much better way.

the other Micro damage was on the headlight, actually the windscreen
no biggy at all..

the Jimmy guards end up eating some of the impact

now for Zilla's bike.

i afraid his damage was wrost.
the A-arm got crumble,I imagine do to a front wheel landing I think

his tank got pretty wasted also

notice the crash bar,,man does poor thing got all bend out of shape.

i can not really tell but looks like his rear sub frame was bend, and for sure some issues on the head light were present...

the two front wheels, the one made by Bucannans for motozilla usiing a "SUN" rim and stock spokes on a tube tyre and the one i made with the R100 rim work perfectlly.
after all the water bars that is kind of a miracle if you as me....

and that is with out counting hospital bills.

a caritative soul from this site is going to take some X-rays from my Pelvis and my collabone.i was sure the pain was just temporary, but is being 5/6 days ans still hurts like hell.

hope fully is nothing, and if is something,i don't need any special care.

will see...i much rather live my life, that wait for the images to pass by my side like if i was on a train..

I for sure prefer to be on the lense side of the camara, and live life to the fullest.

Ouch! But busted bones don't cut it, man. You gotta get impalement scars - those are the coolest. I got some nice cuts, cool flesh loss and various scalpel slices, but there's nothing like a nice long jagged impalement scar to get the chicks starin' at the gym. Now, get back out there and get yourself some high scorin' hurt, dude.

I hope your tests come back negative. Judging by the damage shots, your highside wasn't in the soft stuff.

How did the line up compare to your average amateur mountain bike race? More or less structure? Did they put you on the left, or was that a choice? I am asking because I have the itch, and haven't raced bikes (6 years) or motos (23 years) in a looong time! I want to do the Ah Chihuahua! Rally, but realistically am not going to pull it off for a year or two.

What if you got a tag team together for the Baja 500? Someone who wants to race THEIR bike, will front the entry, etc... and wants talented teammates. There are enough of you in the Bay Area to field support crews. My parents have been an informal "pit" for Ivan Stewart in the Toyota for years. They camp in choice locations, and have a spare wheel, and the odd fluids. Pressed into service once. Tell your buddies, they get to camp in Baja, drink beer for two or three days, get a little dusty, and all they need to do is sit and drink with a spare wheel or fuel jug, etc... Great! If they are ambitious, they can rendezvous with you at different parts of the course, but if there are enough of you, they can stay put. And drink. Sorry...stream of consciousness. I still think it would work!

Jinx is right, get that damn top subframe mount wrapped into partial sheer, and that will accomplish more than a gross enlargement. Get well soon! I don't want to hear about full body casts or anything. Hips and pelvis are crucial for several things...

tell me about ,,when walking to the bathroom is a shore in fact leaving the bed is a big BiG deal, when the post office appears to be many milles away, even if is only five blocks..

In fact i better stay away from the "Funny" guys around here, because when I laught hurts a lot and I better not get a cold, because when I "sneeze"(the nose thing)I see the rings of neptune...

about baja maybe I let you get the bike, and I become encharge of crashing...

about the race, this guys were "serius",I don't really think they apreciate the company much,,,
I don't know when I race bicycles you need to earn your place,,here you just pay for it,,well more or less the only way a bike like golem and a guy like me can share the same space at the same time, with does Devol rock stars
