Beauty and the Geeks do Mexico Day 2 & 3

Trip for day 2, Santiago-San Juan Bautista-Laguna de Sanchez-El Tunal:

Mike hard at work......"Hmmm, let me see if I can get the top of that mountain in the picture"

OH YAH!!!

Approaching San Juan Bautista:

At San Juan the group splits. One rider asks....."Hmm, how long does it take to get to the end of the dirt road?" Edgardo replies, "I dunno, about an hour."

Some took the paved road to the canyon:

Inside the canyon:

And some took the road less traveled..... An hour later:

Two hours later:

Two and a half hours later..... and El Tunal is nowhere in sight...

Are we there yet?

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the paved road group takes a side trip to Restaurant El Mirador at Laguna de Sanchez

Approaching the pass

The descent into El Tunal via cobbles

The beauty lays down her beemer.....

3 hours later, the two groups finally meet...

Roberto can, but he needs a little massage for his stiff neck...and Edgardo comes to his rescue

On the way back, we all took the paved road

Approaching the canyon

Roberto Sí Puede

Roberto thinking to himself...."Wow, I really am photogenic"

9:00pm: Eating at an italian restaurant in Santiago. The party was just beginning for some......

2am: Who's buying the next round?

8am: Morning came early for some......................GO AWAY!

9am: Breakfast of champions

Los Ahijados rest stop on Mexico 40 half way between Moterrey and Texas.

Crossing the border, the inevitable lines to slow down the drugs, undocumented workers, and, of course, the dreaded middle east terrorists that cross from Mexico all the time...can't wait for the brilliant federal plan to build and maintain a fence...

The beauty and the geeks...signing off........
