The foam is mounted onto a plastic frame which fits into the stock mount, put in a loose piece of foam and it may come unstuck and get sucked into the deep dark depths of the air box.

I emailed the bashplate manufacturer in South Africa but did not hear back


This is what we need for hanging soft luggage, such as my Ortlieb set. Who's going to step up and make one.

Thanks for the side shots.

Does the Touratech bash plate have more side coverage than this one? It looks like it covers the waterpump more

Maybe someone else with a TT bash plate can post comparable pics, PLEASE?

Thanks for the link!! I believe BMW of Santa Cruz sells them in their Wunderlich catalog, but don't list them as fitting the X-C, but according to the UK site you provided, they will fit the F650 and the G650, that's good to know
