Husqvarna TR650 Strada/Terra - Should I Buy one?

Newbie here, so go easy on me :)

I have an appointment to go and buy one of these (2014 model... If that makes a difference) next weekend. It is used, 1200 Kilometers on it, and the amount we have agreed on it $6250. It also has some new slightly more knobby tires on it.

Anyway! I am concerned about this stalling issue I keep reading about! Or "running lean" issue, where the bike stumbles or dies randomly. I don't want to sign up for a 60 month lease and wind up with a lemon I am going to regret buying.

I really really like the bike.... Other than this rather disconcerting issue.

Thanks so much for any input!

Check the thread here and at CafeHusky on the 650. Very good bikes but you will have a few things to do, the most difficult is the air cleaner mod if you ride in dusty conditions. You will need to have the engine MOSS'd at a dealer and that should take care of any running issues. The ECU wasn't quite right when the bikes were initially delivered, but mine has been spot on ever since having the MOSS treatment. Do some homework but don't be put off. A little elbow grease will fix the issues.

As for the fueling... I bought a Wiseco programmer, and I've had zero issues since I installed it. Only changed one setting after the install, so it's not one of those high-maintenance items where you have to keep measuring crap and adjusting. There are solutions like that, if you want to go that route.

I see that you're in Canada where things tend to cost more, but my local dealer here in AZ still has brand new Stradas for $5499 + fees.

Yeah! This is as good as it gets here:

Essentially I'm getting 11% off the sale price, buying it with 1200k on it.
