Have to fess up - that pic was 120,000 - it's a bit shabby at the moment - some of the chrome job failed and it's looking a bit rough in patches and I've let it go a bit - too many test bikes!

It needs another birthday badly.

The first 90,000km were out of Newcastle NSW, but yeah the first 5 years in NZ - every chance to ride - rode. Don't underestimate how many miles of fabulous roads there are over here either. It's a 4 day ride top to bottom - counting the ferry.

I really miss my Thunderbird. I think it was a mistake to stop building the "Classic" triples.

We pieced together my son's Sprint RS from a wrecked one and burnt one. This is at Bonneville.

You are lucky being out there in Bakersfield...close to the Bodfish Caliente Road...one of the best roads in all of motorcycling, in my opinion.

That is a great shot, and a great-looking bike.

I traded in my Speed Four (unfortunately no pics) for my Tiger. I loved that thing, but I don't recall ever seeing another one, anywhere.

Fond memories

Wow, my first real motorcycle! I remember riding down California Highway One, in the fog, no gloves, freezing my ass off, just to see the girl I was currently in lust with. What a 16 year old guy will do for a chance for a little lovin' is truly amazing!

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...y/scan0001.jpg

Anyway, ever since, I've had a soft spot for Triumphs, would really love to have a T-100 in the garage for those happy days when there's nowhere to go, and nothing to do, just go ride! The kind of days when my wife asks "where are you going?", and accepts an answer like "East". Then I call her 4 hours later to tell her wher I'm eating lunch and what time I'll be home.

I know, I know, everyone has an opinion, but in my humble opinion...
Noone ever built a better propotioned, better style bike, than a 60's Bonneville. But, then on the other hand, my father used to tell me...

"You're entitled to your own opinion, no matter how stupid it is!"

That is one seriously cool pic!

And I agree about your assessment of the Bonnie, it was the most enjoyable bike I've ever owned for those lazy putts with no real destination in mind.
