I have a full day of running around and it all requires a car. I might try to head out again Sunday for some more local trail blazing if it doesn't get any wetter around here tomorrow.

This isn't end times, where you have to make your own gas from smegma and pine cones; you know you can buy factory replacement parts, right? In most cases, they actually work better.

I'm all for hodgepodging to get you home if something breaks on a ride... but once you get home... fix it right!

You remind me of Sparkster, you'd rather spend ten pennies over over time than a nickle all at once.

replacement cables for this carb/bike are usually $50-60 and hard to find (discontinued by Edelbrock)

Stop over at MJUSA . Mike has a bunch of cables hanging on the wall. Bet you can match one up to fit. Tell Mike ,Larry sent you.

A carefully used dremmel can shorten an outter housing. Done many on vintage bikes

Find a good NAPA. They can make any cable with any end in any length.

Ok, I can't deny winter is over any longer. I didn't have a choice and had to take the plow off the tractor so I could put the mower deck back on as my grass needed cutting today.
Didn't have to use it once this year, but can't call it a perfect winter as I did have to put salt down one time. Sure as heck beats last year when it seemed like I was plowing it once a week for months.

It will be a perfect winter to me if we get a couple of deep freeze nights to kill the bugs. All in all though, it was pretty easy. I still have the original tank of gas in the snow blower. I think I used it twice.
