I guess what I meant was, now it's taken apart and you don't have something to put back in it's place, so your brand new bike can't be ridden.

Although it is pretty crappy weather so maybe this is the start of "winter project" time, I just don't want to admit that.

After riding the Tenny for awhile now have your feelings for it changed?

I don't really know how to answer that.

Maybe...?

I added heated grips, an ABS off switch, and a switch which basically tricks the clutch safety switch into activating and telling the computer to add more fuel, thus controlling the snatchy throttle in the first few gears. Added a Kriega bag to the rack where the passenger seat was. I'd like to find a super low shield to eliminate the buffeting but there's nothing currently out there. I may look into a used GS low shield and see if I can modify it to work. Unlike every other bike I've ever owned, I don't enjoy "farkling" this one - it's more like "arrgh, I need to do this???"

I am actually really disappointed in it's 2-up comfort. I'm not a big fan of 2-up anyway, but Meredith likes riding on the bike with me, and on a recent ride with her it felt very cramped and off balance. This was a good excuse for me to immediately remove the passenger seat and turn it into a 2 wheeled pickup truck, but obviously now we are limited to taking the V-Strom on 2 up rides.

I guess other than that, it's okay. I feel like a d-bag not saying "I love it!", it makes me feel like I'm ungrateful or something. As Bob Ramsay pointed out, there's a lot of guys who would love to own one. But, I just am not in love with it. I miss the V-Strom, honestly, and I miss the lack of payment on the V-Strom especially. If I were doing it over again at this juncture, I think I would either keep the V-Strom or opt for a used Tiger 800.

Then again, I'm still only at 2500 miles on it, maybe after I take a few trips on it and basically live off it for a week or so, I'll feel differently. I'm wondering if it's not so much that I miss the V-Strom as it is I miss the character the V-Strom developed after holding the starring role in so many of my adventures.

Does that (not) answer the question?

I have only worked in the MC industry my whole life. I worked for IP way back when when I was a kid and they were nice enough to make a spot for me when my dad died and I decided to move back to OH.

I have sorta kinda tried to mostly keep it on the down low, but several on this thread knew.

The poeple at IP have always been very good to me & I can tell you after visiting a giant chunk of motorcycle shops all over the US & the world many, many locals are completely spoiled by having a shop like IP close by.

Ohio in general has quite a few cool MC shops, but IP really is something special.

I am a big fan of IP, but I will not shove it down people's throats.

I know we have both fans & detractors. I get & respect that.

Nothing wrong with liking your job and employer.

I'm a terminal manager/driver/wrench/whatever needs done besides home terminal billing and paperwork on the top.

Eh?

Danjal sez:

I won't bore you with my occupation...I have tried explaining to some face to face and they still aren't clear what I do....so trying to do it with my usual short smart ass online answer won't work at all...

Lets put it this way....it requires a passport and patience

Unless I misunderstand?

Send me the dimensions, I have 3 rear springs in my garage, you are welcome to try one if it is close. If you go to some of the spring companies and or sites like Race Tech suspension will have charts with the stock spring rates and what's available. I think 2 of the springs I have are labeled with the rate and one is an XR spring which uses oddball Honda rates and is pretty much 2 or 3 times what anyone else uses. I also have some fronts but may be too big around.
