If you truly want you voice to be heard, you need to call or write to your representative yourself...online stuff such as emails, petitions or this Ruger thing are too easy, and thus, are not taken seriously.

thats my 2 cents anyway

Of course it is better to call, but I do think these are taken seriously especially in large enough numbers because you actually have to do something and in most cases people can't be bothered to do anything!

The way I understand it is each official has staff that wades through their emails for them and tallies up the 'Yes' vs 'No' sentiments on different topics. They then put together a report (daily? weekly?) for the representative so they have an idea of the temperature of the concerned citizenry on different issues.

Since the 'gun control' furor started up again recently I've been sending one message a week to my state and federal representatives via the NRA ILA website. I don't use the form letters, but craft a simple straightforward statement of my opinion. Each time I've gotten prompt replies from those I have contacted, mostly form letters, some more personalized. I don't believe the NRA would waste it's time having people email their representatives if they didn't see it having any impact.

Just my .02

I find so many similarities between MC riding and Firearms issues. If sending an email via the AMA counts so does one thru Ruger or the NRA. If the loss of off road areas has taught us anything it is that silence is just another way of giving up.
I loved it when someone on another forum commented sending letters will get you on "The List". I responded that being on "The List" is better than having them think you support their quick fix ideas and removing your rights by proxy.

I actually have a copy of the list, and all you fuckers are on it.

We're going to start siezing guns at your house, Luke, since intelligence gleaned from your youtube channel shows that no officers will actually be in danger of getting hit by bullets fired from a gun you are aiming. Also, thanks to your youtube videos, we were able to scrap our plan of dressing as ninja pop bottles when we attacked your house. We've seen what you can do to a 2 liter.

After you, we'll probably just go alphabetically; the only real problems I expect are from Craig; since the rest of you pogues are essentially just internet tough guys with small dicks, compensating for your lack of virility by buying bigger and bigger guns. Come to think of it, Whitey may be a problem, too, since he's clearly a deranged stalker. And we'll leave indypup alone because, as everyone knows, cops hate video cameras.

What is siezing? Did you mean you want to size my guns to see how big they are? Besides I'm still waiting for you to come out and give me tips to become a better marksman. So far it's just Dagny Tagert and I trying to get better thru practicing the basics.

Skiing in France? Isn't that like ice skating in the desert? And remember Switzerland is the home of the sex change so be carefull of the "snow bunnies" you meet there.

Try to have fun now that I've created that disturbing image in your head.
