Apparently, back in the early '70's. You could rent small Yamaha enduro & ride trails.... Probably similar to Bear Creak.
They'd strip all the street stuff off, add a "high' fender & let anybody try & kill the bike & themselves.

Anyway, I found a stash of the parts. If you are knowledgeable in these little enduros, (I'm a Honda XL guy)
& need some help figuring what all this stuff came off of.
Need something for yours?
Interested in the 175 with a title?
(give Ya a hell of a deal)
or actually remember K.O.K. please let let me know.
Before my time, and before I was in this area, but super cool! Good post.

Yeah, I'm sure I could make more money by doing it a piece at a time.
but, I've got a Yamaha SRX-6 that I want to get back on the road.

Have talked to a few members at yamahaenduros forum about selling them some pieces (cheap) & two members wanted it all but are far, far away.

the CT175 has a title & I'll sell it dirt cheap with a TON of parts to someone who promises to get it back on the road & in the dirt.

That stuff looks like it came off DTs I suspect things like those headlight shells would do pretty good on eBay, but you would want to clean them up and do them one at a time. Same with the Speedos, nice little treasure trove you have there. I am friends with a bunch of the guys from the Japanese Vintage Motorcycle Club. I could do some checking if you want to get rid of the whole shebang in one swoop, you would make a lot less $ that way, but ebaying that stuff will be a PITA.

K.O.K.
Just think about having enough land, buying a bunch of new Yamaha enduros & then letting anyone with a little cash go riding them on muddy, tree/rock infested Ohio trails. Bet only open faced helmets (if any), work boots, T-shirts & jeans.
Crazy huh?

Wonder if you even had to sign a waver?

Well I'd hardly rate any current offering from Honda as "weird", but point taken.

Maybe he should build a VW / chopper / trike thing and equip it like a Ural.

Ah, the SRX... Wondered if someone caught that.

One of my dream bikes as well.
kicks over, but going to take some work to get her going.
Was sitting in Dover for over 6 years because the guys wife won't let him ride anymore.
It's not for sale, but maybe if you've got an interesting trade...

So Rich, tell me about KOK.
Did they just hand you a bike & say have at it?
Gotta be some great stories.

Talking

Yea it was past Mathias Raceway. Building is still there. So are some of the trails. Run by a guy whose last name was Kiser. Had wife and kids involved too. Wife was not, she was a New Phila cop after they divorced. Some stories there too

You had to pay rental for bike and equipment. Seem to remember you had to sign a waiver and pay a deposit for damage. They rented AT's and CT's. might have been some others, but those are the 2 I remember. Definitely no DT's as rentals.

You got to ride the trails for however long you paid - 1/2 hour, hour, etc. Bad late and damage fees. They lost a lot of money No surprise there

But damn it was fun!

Of course I have interesting things to trade, but the reason I have them is I never let them go.

Keep me in mind if you get bored of the project, I would like to have an SRX.

Were you not, just on Tuesday night at dinner, lamenting the fact that you are overrun with non running or project bikes?

I'm the same way though. Every time I see a fat chick I tell myself, "Self, you do not need another girl to throw down the hole", but pretty soon there I am, pretending to be a paraplegic, lugging her home in my van, lotioning her up, and storing her in my basement to make another piece of my sweet ass human technicolor dreamcoat.

So I know how it is.
