His comment comparing riding to snow skiing and auto racing hit a chord with me since I've done both and also enjoyed the satisfaction of being "in the groove". It's a place I'm sure we've all been... Makes for a long day when you're not though!

That's why I didn't post the whole thing

I was posting in a Tenere thread earlier and it dawned on me how much I really am not digging the Tenere. In fact, as much as I have been wanting to like it and thinking that it was growing on me, I have already been subconsciously replacing it with a Strom... I have a 4 day trip coming up this weekend and I already asked Meredith a few days ago if I could do it on her bike instead of mine.

I'm not going to list the Tenere for sale since I can't stand internet tire kickers, and I want to move it sooner rather than later. So, come Tue, I'm most likely going to trade it in on a Strom. However, if prior to that, someone here wants it for payoff, it's yours. I am ballparking payoff at $10,500 give or take a few bucks... I'll eat the overage if it's more. I don't honestly expect anyone here would buy it but I didn't want to go trade it in and then hear "oh man I wish I would have known...."

2012 w/7500 miles, has factory heated grips. No other farkles. Needs a new back tire soon. Otherwise great. All deer strike damage was repaired by Harding's Park Cycle and all damaged components were replaced with new ones - new forks, new front brakes and right front rotor, new fairing subframe, new plastics. 1 year warranty in effect until October 2013.

And, for current local Tenere owners, I have a Worldcrosser aluminum skidplate, GIVI engine guards, a Pyramid frame infill panel, and Happy Trails racks (I keep the bags) for sale. Make a fair offer. If no takers by Tue then I will photograph these items and list them.

If I can get Hardings to find me a NOS 2011 Strom 650 I'll be buying that, otherwise, most likely a 2013 Strom ABS.

Tempting but I have yet to milk the last drips of piss out of the DL1000 as I have always been trying to ride the piss out of it.

Good ride today IP and Benley. Hope it didn't bore you or wear either of you out too much. I'm downloading video from the helmet cam now and hope to have some of the fun stuff up later this evening.

I'd be all over Meef's Tenere, but I just bought a propane floor machine. Considerably less sexy, but fun to ride in a bank office after hours.

Wish I could have made it but had a MSF course scheduled for today. Might try and get the KLR out for a little shake out tomorrow. Can't wait for the video...

I just made it home from Tar Hollow. Thanks BuildIT for leading us around. I think most of the stuff was new for me. At least the trails looked different. ;)
I'll get around to editing my video sometime. Maybe tomorrow if it rains. ;) I still need to edit Grassman, Hanging Rock, and now Tar Hollow.

Good to see you and IP today. You did an excellent job as usual leading the ride. Many trails were new to me. Actually I don't think I've ever been on a TH ride and not ridden something new.
