Duct tape everything. I think you could do a great impersonation of him.

Bigger bike gravel in Zanesville at 930.

Smaller bike gravel, abandoned roads, (maybe a bit more hardcore) and so forth in Caldwell at 10:00, to head down to Marietta area.

I’m in Groveport so I will pick a place on the East side of Columbus close to I-70 to meet. If it’s just folks from Columbus that are interested in the big bike ride I will make the meeting place at an East Columbus restaurant so we can grab some breakfast at about 08:00 and then head out straight to the route in Zanesville.

Lima Flattrack Saturday.

If you like racing even a little bit you'll LOVE sideways action on the gravel half-mile.

I'll be there.

I'll be in Matthews, IN doing a dual sport ride that is supposed to be almost as good as Flint Ridge. It's a two day ride. Sat/Sun. Weather looks not to be too damn hot. We might get a little wet at times though. ;)

Here's the link again...

Hey bud, too bad. You're going to miss Benly schooling me on my first serious non-pavement ride, and I'm sure it will be entertaining for all who see. Actually I've had my Connie up to 60 a couple times on some Canadian outback gravel roads, but that's not to say I enjoyed it or knew what I was doing...

I'm sorry to miss it! Yay for street bikes in inappropriate places! I would be lying if I said my RT hadn't seen some gravel/dirt roads and grass fields.

Well, I just finished putting to route I had in mind together in BaseCamp. The loop is 158 miles. It's about 92.5% unpaved, well definitely 90%. There are stops every 50- 60 miles. Caldwell-Marietta(821 at I77 exit 6)-Woodsfield-Caldwell. Probably 5-6 hours with stops?
Includes some high speed gravel in Noble Co, a couple tricky places in Washington, and lots of twisty, narrow gravel roads, several with grass in the middle.
More than everyone was thinking or about right?
