Changing a tire?

Seriously?

Are you honestly going to defend a dealership for turning away a tire swap?

Yep, all day long.

If it were another Japanese brand? No. But a stand alone HD or perhaps even a BMW dealer, Yes.

In layman's terms I guess you could say a motorcycle is a motorcycle, let a lawyer get a whiff of that, he will eat your lunch.

I still don't believe that's real.

Edit, I guess maybe it is, there is also youtube video of a "correction / apology" later...

I didn't believe it either until researching further. Asiana plans to sue the local news network.

It was just the tire change...I would take the wheel off the bike!!! So IP only changes Yamaha tires? And Honda shops only change Honda tires? But places like MJ USA can change any tire on any brand? I was willing to sign a waver. The motorcycle world is pretty F-ed Up when lawyers dictate what type of wheel you can work on and who you have to turn away. They wouldn`t even loan me two spoons so I could change it myself. No,I still say "F" H-D or any other shop that would send someone down the road on a tire with cords showing asking for a blowout that might cost him his life or someone else life.

Oh please.

If you can be underwritten for changing tires on an HD, you can be underwritten for changing tires on a Yamaha, or a Victory, or a custom....how the living fuck do you think any business who services multi-brands is able to conduct those transactions by your reasoning?

How does IP change tires on any brand, all day long? How do other Harley dealers do it? Because they do...I've had a tire changed at one.

What a stupid, stupid, stupid thing to suggest let alone defend.

If the dealership in question really binds their policy based on liability, then they're morons because it doesn't restrain anyone else from changing tires.

I have to agree with Ohioroadrat, what's this world coming too. You have to worry what may happen if you stop to help a fellow biker because you have never riden or worked on that brand of bike and he may sue you if you make a mistake? BS, the laywers and judges in this country need a BIG does of common sense. We have turned into a bunch of politically correct dumbasses.

It ain't the tool that will kill you, it's who's using it.

Ortlieb makes a set of rackless saddlebags that get good reviews. (Ortlieb Moto Saddle-Bags) I have a set that I planned to use on my 690 this summer but have not used them yet. Cheaper than a Giant Loop bag. Very robust, good capacity, waterproof.
