Nice summary of some nice bikes...love Italian character, particularly on a borrowed bike!

A few of us are going back to Ray Rays (Ace of Cups) for the wings and a Bela Lugosi movie (it is his birthday) tomorrow night. Going to be raining. If you are not doing anything else consider swinging by.

10/17

Also looking for a person or two that is interested in going to the pumpkin show for a couple of hours Friday night.

I am sort of a D-bag, so it would be helpful if you were nice. If you are a D-bag too we will probably fight.

So are you looking for people to keep you from being beaten up or a D&D to make sure you don't get arrested for DUI as you leave?

I can take care of myself, but I am getting older & I assume there are some pretty big, ornery, farm boys down there.

I do not partake in the firewater while operating motor vehicles & (if I had any) guns would also be left in the safe.

So you just want people who will cheer you on while you eat a whole pumpkin pie?

Calling 12V electrical gurus

One of the things I wanted to do to my newly acquired GS was to direct wire the power port under the seat to the battery. My intention is to use this port to power my gerbings jacket as well as an air compressor in addition to be an access point for a battery tender. I am planning on fusing this with a 15A fuse.

My questions are: is 15A enough and if so what gauge wire would you recommend? The distance to the battery is less than 12".

I should clarify: I know the 15A fuse is OK for the Gerbings but I'm not sure about what an air compressor would need.

Thanks!!

Most power ports have a 10A fuse. That gives you 120W available (really like 130-140W running). My Slime compressor works just fine on a 10A fuse. You may want to look at your compressor to be sure.

I've got a 15A in mine, powers a compressor or vest no problem. 18 ga or bigger should be fine.

Ruppster brings up a good point (whether he meant to or not) about checking the specs on the compressor. I don't have one yet so what recommendations do any of you have?

Meef, thanks for the info. I have 16G wire on the shelf and a 15A fuse holder so that should work. Appreciate it!

Not sure exactly what gauge, ( I'd guess 16) but I power everything from the battery tender hookup that came with it. I just changed the fuse to a 10 amp one. No problems with an electric jacket and gloves, or a slime compressor.
