Over time you will recognie a combination of things, like a patina of several different kinds of dirt/mud/dust on the bike and gear, a jaunty swagger that upon further observation is a severe limp, and of course extensive knowledge about how to pick up dropped bikes in a wide range of terrain.

I think that's a question on the motorcycle learners permit nowadays. ;)

I am currently deep in the study and practice of this part of the curriculum.

EricRat and I come up to Columbus sometimes, and we plan on participating in some dual-sport events this year. Last year I tried out some gravel for the first time on an xt 250 at the Cabin Fever Road Enduro. We'll proly try it again this year, only this time on the 700GS!
Absolutely- just post up to this thread if/when you are coming by, that will let everyone know to watch out for you and EricRat. I spent most of my ten years with the Connie telling people it WAS NOT A BMW. But, here in CruiserLand, I just learned to take it as a compliment.

Actually, that's me on the Connie in my avatar, just really far away in Canada. Oh, and yes, I do believe it is a requirement of the board that posting members must display the ADV sticker somewhere on their ride; there is one available somewhere (Benly got mine for me, not sure which inmate was supplying them) that has the ADV logo over a silhouette of the state of Ohio- very high cool factor, especially when you ride out of state or country.

I only ever put a handful up. There is still one from the first run tenaciously clinging to the stop sign at 79 and 541 near Nellie. It's weathering well.

Jon has the torch now. Personally, I think the new ones are too big, but I'm not the designer, printer, or financier, so my opinion is insignificant.

Well, that's nice. Those are the better ones anyway!

If someone needs some of the small ones, I only ever used two out of my stash. I resisted the temptation to put one on my wife's van just to see if she would get the salute.

I have a special training program for it. I'm a crappy rider but I crash like a pro.

This is my wife Meredith (MeefZhette) and I on a trip to WV a few months ago. She rides a 2007 Strom (in the background). She likes meeting other female riders; but most of the ones around here are cruiser riders and their riding style aggravates her. She came back from a girls ride not too long ago bitching because the other girls were riding too slowly and were tottering through the curves.

I'm much more ruggedly handsome and less dumpy looking in person. Otherwise, this would be us.

The lady riders may need to conduct a pole. Where can we find just the right depraved Lady ADVer for this.... I'm sure GCMC will be along any moment...

I'm sure this was just a spelling error on your part, but I'm okay with that. Unless it is them wielding the pole.
