By the way, anyone have success with the Rick Mayer Saddle, I am waiting anxiously for mine to arrive? If I can get it by April 20th, I will be at the highland house on the 21st.

Good question, oh pirate-like person with do-rag and multiple names.
On my recent trip, I don't think I saw a single connie. Lots of HDs, Wings, and beemers, but not a single connie. Where are they all? Too buzzy for long trips? I think I saw one Tiger and zero KLRs. Out in the Utah backroads, we did see several generic hondazukayamkaw thumpers, and I can't tell the difference among them without looking closely at a stop. By far, the most common brand I saw out on the road was Harley. And I'm not talking about your chrome-encrusted trailer queen...I'm talking about bug-splattered, mileage-eating road dogs. I also don't recall seeing any gen-u-ine "sport tourers" like VFRs, FJs, ZX, R11S, KRS (okay, I saw *one* and he was with us). I guess they don't do so well when the road straightens out.

some of you may know this...
But whenever I speak about my favorite concours riding riding buddy its Zednedbesty. He is my little brother and rides/drives a Kawasaki concours. Welcome zed/tyler! On our tours we have seen concour's, not a lot but some. Zed can ride with the best of em' and his co-rider hangs tough also. Anyone who can do 600 mile days on a stock concours saddle is one tough MO-FO!!!
If any has experiance with rick mayer please put zed at ease. He is worried about getting his saddle. Maybe Rocky could convince is big brother to show up here!

I'll post anyway
I did add quite a bit to my bike this year, in hopes of raising overall comfort, but I think the buzz is way out of proportion. My honda magna was smoother, but, it also had a 3 gallon gas tank. Out with old in with the new/old design. I also saw lots of touring harleys, and some on trailer also. As far as sport tourers, I saw several concours and Rt's and St's, but none of the other sport tourers that I remember. I'll have to see how it goes this year. I now have about $10,500 into concours. Still lower than St or RT or even Triumph sport tourers. And it screams. Hopefully one of these weeks I'll make it down to the Highland House, and be able to meet some of you.

seat production date
I hope all you don't live in such a black hole so as to not even know what a concours is! They have only been making them since 1986 - Reagan was in office then - Remember? I do, I was 10 years old in '86, Xtreemlee was 20, and people born in '86 were just born.
My seat production date was today. I hope he actually started it, and didn't go crazy sniffing seat foam. I could imagine him sitting in a dark corner of his shop in California, hiding from uncle Ernie with his electric foam knife in one hand and his stapler in the other. Slowly loosing weight because the lunch his wife brings out to him every day could be poison. The emails and seats keep piling up and the bike-seat demon won't leave him alone, it just keeps telling him to make the foam smoother, make better stiches, and not to get behind, cause if you do, out comes uncle Ernie. I have been riding sitting on the frame rails because of the lack of seat, that isn't very comfortable. I wish my seat would get here. See ya |

In the last few years of riding I thing I've only seen one connie. What's with that? In 1999 I was riding west on I-70 out of Columbus, OH when I saw this Contours. At the time I was on my Honda Shadow. Since then I've traveled a bit and don't recall seeing another. Do they still make them? :o)
