BTW, Mefos SUCK in mud. My buddy and I were both on Mefo-shod KLRs this weekend and found ourselves on a dirt road made of that orange/red adobe soil, and it had rained the previous night, and some 4WD trucks had been through there. Deep truck tire ruts in sticky, oozy mud. The Mefos packed up solid within a few feet and we might as well have been on slicks.

I like them in all other conditions I've had them in including stream crossings and pavement, but this was the first time I have had them in that kind of mud and they were really awful. I suppose anything short of a full mud knobby would have been inadequate given the conditions though.
