I use my x/c to commute back and forth to work, and ride in the rain a lot, bike handles great in the wet with the stock tires.

I did my first service myself, since the dealer is an hour away, and I'm on call almost all the time. You can do everything but check for fault codes. I download the service requirements off the net.

it handles beautifully in the rain. I've been on a number of long rides with rain so hard it hurts, but the tires just stick to the pavement, even submerged under several inches of standing water.

Mine also has been living outside for the past two years. It gets rained on all the time. I have a cover that i use when it is parked for more than a day. A little rust here and there on a couple of steel bits and the chain, but with upkeep it does fine.

Great pic! I've been to the Bronx and you've captured the essence of Bronxocity here. I forgot what it looked like. Thank you for reminding me.

West 231st St and River Ave. I've started doing some night rides on all the little roads I can find in NYC. You should come along sometime.

Acerbis fender

Contemplating picking up an Acerbis Supermoto front fender for my g650xcountry. Does anyone have any pics/advice for mounting it?

rear rack and tail bag

In case any of you guys are looking for a rear rack for your x-country I'll suggest what worked on my bike(09). I recently ordered the Hepco & Becker rear rack for the x-country and found that it mounts easily, looks great, and is very rugged. Today I just recieved the wolfman peak tail bag, which fits perfectly on the rack and is extremely well thought out. I encourage any of you looking for rear storage on your bike to check out these 2 products.

Well done thigh

Hey guys/ladys,

Anybody's left leg baking in traffic? Damn, it's only June in the low 80's; what's it gonna be like when it's August in the high 90's? I got the bike in October and the heat's never really been an issue, but now it's a literal pain. I'm gonna have to ride with an oven mitt on my left thigh!

I ordered the Leo Vince (supposedly on backorder), can anybody tell me if the pipe is cooler? I heard it doesn't have the iconic BMW catalytic converter.
