Homemade skidplate
Well....here it is:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Keep in mind, I am a rookie welder with limited experience but I have a great teacher. Mounts up nicely, I can tell there's a bit more noise coming from down there, not much but it just sounds different you know? I am happy with it

Looks good
In the last picture, I would round off the sharp 90 degree edge near the oil filter cover. Plus, the banjo bolt under the engine looks vulnerable if the bashplate flexes against it.. Maybe a rubber bushing of sorts that can be mounted around it to take he load ![]() now, get it painted and you're done

Gadget Boy's suggestions and a hole for the oil drain plug and I think you're good to go! Looks great!

If I had my own shop, i'd definitely make more but as of now that's just not possible, sorry! I do have the dimensions and drawings though, so if anyone has a good shop around that you can use or have someone do it for ya PM me and i'll see if I can scan it and send it over to ya.

Nice work!! Too bad you can't crank them out and take some of TT's business away..
By the way folks, Touratech has raised their prices on all their farkles, due to the falling US$... the TT X Challenge bashplate has gone up $20 odd to $243 from $220..

Pretty sure any auto parts store would have it. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...?Category=3280 As for the Dynamat stuff...I think it is used for soundproofing doors and stuff...so check with car stereo installation places. |

JC Whitney used to sell a reasonably priced top box. Personally I prefer a plastic toolbox (Craftsman) bungied to my WeeStrom rack.
