Fire Road Closure Goggle Map site

I created a Goggle account for Advrider's to place information on fire roads that are closed - Gated, washed out ect.

Since Washignton state got hit by a big storm the last few days (08) some fire roads are going to be washed out or impassable. Sure would be nice to know in advance on road closure so everyone can plan alternate routes.

Go to Fire Road Closure. Below are a few states I started. Ones in Red have closures.

USA
Alaska (AK) - None
California (CA)
Colorado (CO) - None
Idaho (ID) - None
Oregon (OR) - None
Washignton (WA)

Europe
Asia/Oz/Kiwi land
Outer Darkness

If you want to place information about a fire road in your area that is closed, sign on with the info below.

Sign on as: advridercom@yahoo.com
Password: advrider
Click on the "Remember Me on this computer" box so you do not have to reenter the sign again.

Click on "My Maps"
Click on the State or Region. If state is not there then create one by clicking on "Create new map" and name it like the other states: State - (state abbreviation) - Fire Road Closure
Clickn Saved

Click on Edit in the next section below. A tear drop placemark will appear on the map
Place a placemark on fireroad with the following information:

Title: State abbreviation - Name of Road ect
Description: Gated/Closed/Washed out/? - Short description of the problem

Example
Title: WA - North Fork River Rd
Description: Gated - No motor vehicles allowed beyond this point.

Save info.

Please only place fire road closure info in your state or region.

To see fire road closure of a different states or regions clear all check marks and select a state or region.
Have at it and keep it clean.

I thought it would be nice to have information on road closure for all states.

I created a map section for each regional area.
As long as everyone put the state abbrevaiton at the beginning or the title in the correct region it will be easier to follow.

Nice idea, but in the People's Republik of Commiefornia, they're always closing new roads. Too many to count.

Just to digress a little here, it ain't the state that is closing most of the roads, at least not the ones we ride around SoCal, it's the Feds, most often the Forest Circus. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Great idea KTMarty!

I'll try to pass the word along and update things when I can locally, but as was mentioned, conditions change a lot around CA, and often without any "official notice" or any discernable rationale. The recent fires really had an impact on local access in some of our areas. Hell, they haven't even reopened a good deal of stuff from the very wet winter we had 2 years ago.

Anyway, once again, great idea.

Added new gate info off 104 on the Olympic Peninsula in WA.

This area is pretty much closed up (Private property) but lots of riding just south on 104 . Take Snow Creek Rd exit.

Teanaway W Fork Rd
Heading W on Pasco RD - Just off of Nelson Siding RD

Description:
Two large cement blocks blocking the road.
Green Mountain Rd (NF 4120) East of Granite Falls off of Mountain Loop
