Yes, the RID is equivalent - sort of - tto the computer on the 12 GS. Okay a stretch I agree but that's my story and I'm sticking with it

You need a key fob from your local dealer, but generally that's the component that puts the machine in self-service mode. Think KITT from KnightRider.

If you didn't get the fob, you're SOL.
