If you look under any of my trucks you'll find a well maintained vehicle.

I'm going to guess that your name is not Colt. It's amazingly coincidental that your taste in vehicles mirrors so closely what he does. I know that guy from Pakistan that makes the tops and he was supposed to re-make the period correct hubcaps, too, but IIRC he never did. Nice looking 40 you have there.

No my name isn't Colt. As for being amazingly similar, it's just a stock FJ40 with a little bit of a lift. I have heard his name mentioned on MUD before and have never heard anything good about him. Ehsan (the Pakitop producer), makes a variety of replacement parts including tubs but I think there is someone else now producing the early hubcaps. Thanks for the compliment.

This is how it started:

Does this still count as a truck even though it's slightly larger than a matchbox? God I would love one of these for getting around the farm during the winter!

Maybe it's a forward control or some may call it a van. I normally don't go for the lowered thing but I would so frakkin drive this!

1974 Datsun 620. Bought new for $2800, sold in '79 for $2800. Had a lot of fun with this truck.

'56 GMC I had while in school in RI. A real beater, but I loved the beautiful grill work. The interior was fixed up real nice.

'89 D250 I bought new. Really loved this truck. Just shy of 300,000 mi., the engine, tranny, interior, body, and frame were about shot. Just took her to be scrapped last month. It was pretty tough to do.

Current ride, '77 M880. 5/4 ton, 318 engine with RV cam, 727 tranny. 4.10 differentials. Full time 4WD through NP203 transfer case; hi range, low range, differential lock. Top speed in high range: 70mph, allegedly; 60mph is more realistic. Top speed in low range: 19mph. 48,000 miles when purchased last year. Former Forest Service fire vehicle.

Damn straight. Thats a work horse and a very nice truck.

There was a 78 Ramcharger round here for sale a while back, I wish I had the dough it was a real battle ax.

It also had a 35 gallon gas tank. At the time it was north of $130 for a fill up.
