I don't know the year of this thing, but a couple of years ago I saw this model with an extended cab and duallies (one ton) that was being restored and installed on a 2006 chassis and drive train from a rolled over wreck. The workmanship was beautiful so it looked like it came out of the factory that way. Never did see it finished and now wish I had taken photos. If any of you are in Florida, look for it in or near Eustice and post a photo here. Last I saw it had a fresh white paint job.

You can keep the lift and big tires. I actually want to get a bike in back there.

A friend of mine just inherited the family Fargo, and we picked it up on Saturday. It was purchased brand new by his grandfather, and his mom learned to drive in this truck as well. It is all there, down to the hubcaps (inside the truck), and the hand crank. It is in very good shape, no rust, but the odd sheet metal crack on one or two of the fenders. It ran less than 10 years ago, and is going to get a light refresh, polish, and maybe a clear coat, and will be used for some local hauling.

1938 Fargo

Will do. This was the last project. '59 Kombi, second owner, 30K original miles, and needed about the same as the Fargo is going to get. The engine had to be split on the VW to get the sludge out of it, but otherwise perfect. The Fargo may not need anything other than the pan dropped and the head pulled. Some spring work, brakes, new bias ply tires, seat cover, etc. It has only 70K miles, and like I said, was driven 10 years ago. It's cool that it is staying in the family.

Wasn't there a story on one of these? Same color and some contractor writing on the side as well. I think the guy was in San Jose.

Very cool and I like how you're going to pretty much leave as is.

It's a '61 I traded a buddy for a DeWalt 15-minute battery charger. I never found the charger, so he was OK with a Battery Tender +. It doesn't run that I know of, but the engine is free. The carb throttle shaft is sloppy as hell, & the interior is garbage, but that's all I know that's wrong.

It's a former fence truck, so there's probably a lot of shit worn out.
Cool, I knew a guy that drove one of those for years. It was a four door railroad truck that had a IH turbo-diesel installed. It would get 20+MPG at 70 MPH, Not to shabby for a vehicle that weighs 8000 Lbs.

This one was sold to the UK, but was going to be shipped out of California with some other buses. I'm not sure if it ever made it to the UK though. The guy was a flipper, although he paid enough for it that there would be no money to be made selling it in the States. The UK is hungry for rust free old buses.

Pretty sure I remember that VW thread as well, but that van was a lot more rare. I don't recall the link though.

That old Dodge is cool. A friend of mine in high school was restoring one. It was an old Missouri DOT truck with no rot. They painted it a dark green metallic, and dropped in a gutless 70's Cordoba 318 for some odd reason. They also put the crushed velour (no rich corinthian leather) seat from the Cordoba in it, and dyed it black. It turned out pretty nice. I wonder if they still have it - I should ask him.

Should I feel bad for keeping two cars (3 if you count wife's) and bucket load motorcycles?

That's a rhetorical question, right?
