Almost got this on ebay, ended up with the e350 4x4 ambulance instead.
Still regret not getting it, would have been a fun project.

1978 Apache Chief with the "Wrangler" 4x4 option.
Tried to find more info on it but not much luck.
Was hoping a couple more existed in decent shape.

Guy bought it March 02 with 39k on it from an old guy that kept it garaged since 1978 with little use.
He then put 31k on it from 3/02 - 12/02 driving from Virginia to alaska, down to southern cal, a few side tracks in the middle, then back to virginia.

A few pics of the beast, map below was his 31000 mile trip in it.

I still plan on replacing the 1984 F150 4x4 I had. I love the '80-'86 body style.
