Sacramento Riders II

The first ride was Dec 1. Here.

Some of us are planning to do it again on Dec 15th.

The route is here.
http://www.pelagicphoto.com/dec_1st_ride.zip
Actually that's Mark's full route. The plan for the 15th is to do the second half which is:

HWY 49
to Old Foresthill
to Mosquito Ridge (food/gas)

to Gorman Ranch
to Michigan Bluff
to Foresthill (food/gas)
to Yankee Jim's Rd
to Canyon Rd (food/gas)
to Ponderosa Way
to Foresthill
back to 49

The current plan is to meet at the Coloma Club Cafe on Hwy 49 at 9:30am and depart at 9:45am.

I've got the route in my GPS but I've never ridden it and I don't currently have a way to mount the GPS on my XR. So I don't want to lead the ride. If Mark shows up he could lead if he want's to. But he may not be able to make it and may not want to lead any way. So if somebody want's to lead that would be great.

GrayGoSt and I will be there. Who else?

Who's Leading?

Hmmm..If Mike54 doesn't want to lead unless he can get the GPS mounted before Saturday and I'm almost always lost and it's only the 2 of us, where will we end up?

I'll be there on my R100GS. We can find someone to lead or just wing it. I've talked to afriend of mine about going and I will check back with him and let you know. He'll be on a XR650. TOM

Hey Tom,
There could be snow at Michigan Bluff but I think it's around 4000 feet elevation or so. I used to live in Foresthill which is down the road from there about 1,200 feet in elevation and it snowed only a couple of times a year. Weather for this upcoming weekend looks like Saturday may be OK there..but I bet it will be cold.. See you Saturday..

I was up in that area Sunday (no map or GPS) roaming around on my DRZ.

There's light dusting of snow in the woods, but trails / roads were great. Great day for riding even though I was

I trailered to Forestill, and rode the following: ....
Yankee Jims to Colfax for coffee
Yankee Jims
Shirtail Canyon (great dirt ride BTW)
Kings Hill / Big Dipper
Iowa Hill Rd
Sugar Pine Rd.
Stop at Parker Flat and rode several miles of Loop#1
Back on Sugar Pine Rd.
Foresthill Rd. back to truck.

I need to hook up with you guys one of these weekends!

Gonna bail on this one

Was gonna go along, if you guys didn't mind another BRP on the loop.
But it looks like I'm heading to Redding for a quad ride this weekend.
For a future adventure we got a place East of Redding that a 1/4 mile from R place U hit dirt and yer into Shasta National Forest, unlimited dirt as far as you can see. Just a thought for a spring or late winter ride.

Have fun!

For those who can't make it, lets plan some rides for after the holidays when things are hopefully not a hectic.

Mike54 and GreyGoSt I will see you there. I have invited other guys but they were all maybes (three GSs and two Xrs) and since I haven’t heard back yet I will count them out. Brian, who is one of the two who met up with you guys in forest hill on the last ride, might come along also. He was on a XR650 and may bring it or his GS. I’ll probably see him tonight.

If you guys want to call it off and try to do it later when more can make it that’s fine too just let me know. Otherwise I’ll see you in Coloma or where ever you want. My cell # is (530)906-6452. TOM

I'll be there and one friend is coming on a XR650. Two others are possible shows. I will meet them at Starbucks in Auburn at 9:00 and we'll ride out to meet you guys at the Colona Club. TOM
