"SE WI" Meet and Greets - Page 28

Some folks have called for a meet and greet and have been working on a date. They also thought it might be nice to have a campout for those that wanted to sip a beer or two and socialize during the evening. I did a little work on a location and came up with a suitable out of the way place that people might enjoy.

So . . .

Saturday August 9th
Harnischfeger Park (Dodge Co Park System)
(near Ashippun - sometimes pronounced "ass whippin'")

Look for these signs to direct you (maybe).

If you come from the north, these is still some fairly deep water on the road. This whole area had some serious flooding for a while.

Sign at entrance road.

The Rock River had much of this under a foot of water for a while.

Things are dried out, cleaned up, and in great shape.

Come for the afternoon, evening, or stay over for some campfire fun. It will be a good opportunity to talk about rides taken or coming up and will be a good chance to introduce some new folks to the "group".

This might be a good excuse to take a ride from somewhere further out in the state.

There are a couple of shelters on the grounds in case the weather turns bad for a bit.

This weekend, there is no one scheduled to camp at the park. Don't know the count for the 9th, but we might be the only folks there.

If people would like, I can work up a couple of entertaining GPS tracks/routes in the area.

I didn't get to drink beer with Tengai at Mog's place last spring, so I need to make up for it..
That, and someone's gotta keep Rebecca in line..

Also, I think the wall between Rebecca's room and mine during the Bonzai rally didn't give her the chance to hear how good I can snore.. And I've been practicing..

I am still sorting out whether my butt will still hurt from riding to the National, but I would like to go. I am invitied to a birthday party at 3 that day, but it isn't far from my house. I would like to meet everybody, so I will do my best to notify about camping. Do we have a list of who is going so far? I can use the leverage on my wife.

Sort of makes a very nice day. Motos and food around noon -- camping and ADV in the afternoon. Total bonus. I'm in and planning on camping.
