Why aren't the headlight ears in the 'to paint' heap?

Personally I'd toss the bag mounts in that heap also, but send them (and the battery tray and signal stalks) for powdercoating instead of painting. Maybe also the rear rack. Forget that triple clamp; get a Toaster Tan one...

I'd just live with the cam cover as it is, but I'd figger out a way to redo the paint on the timing cover.

Having access to a welder will make getting the races out a snap. Have someone weld a bead on each race and they should just fall out once the welds have cooled and the races shrink. Otherwise, getting the lower one out is a first-class bitch.

I've got some brand new headlight ears, that aren't all bashed in, so they're just getting replaced. The bag mounts are chrome, so I'm going to leave them.

I'm going to get rid of the rear rack and go with just the seat rail, I think.
