I think Greg Mcquide was the best writer that Motorcyclist has had. (in my opinion) Wish i would have saved my copys of the mag from that time period. Glad you are getting his bike back on the road. Would you like to work on my R75/5? Don't wait to long to get the bike done.Mine has been sitting on my bench for over a year waiting on a new wiring harness....

Thanks. I need to restore my CB750F after this, so I have to get this thing done.

Today's tasks: Send check for new rotors. Continue to try and find an '84 seat.

Tomorrow's tasks: Order tools to remove swingarm and driveshaft.

Friday's task: Parts cleaning.

Saturday's task: Disassemble front end. Order headlight ears. Get powdercoater's information from friend.

And so forth. I think, based on a CB400F I restored, the idea is to do at least one thing every single day to keep the momentum underway. I've held off working on this bike since last January because I wanted to have the cash in hand to make it all happen at once. Financial stalls can be fatal or at least enough to really put a project on hold.

What year CB750? I am refreshing my old '78 SuperSport. I rode it for years then gave it to a good friend in 1997 so I could have a riding buddy. He rode it then let it sit for the past 5 years. Now I am doing some minor maintenance to get it back on the road. It's good to be taking care of that good old friend.

I am also working on two Yamaha IT465s and my '81R80G/S. Got some work to do on the suspension of my XL600 too. Project creep gone exponential--getting more bikes to fix and more to do. As I become a better wrench I go further on more bikes.

Whew!

It's this one, an '82. I've still got all the stock stuff, along with a factory Sport Control Kit, which I gather is quite rare these days.



Trying to order tools today, so I can get the swingarm off. This weekend, I'm going to yank the front end off and figure out which bits to paint, replace or clean.

One of the fairing stays is bent, so that'll get straightened in the press and the rest of the little bits will probably wind up getting painted or cleaned. Everything functions, so I'm trying not to get too carried away.

Any time. Everybody took them off and put Kerkers on, so the stock ones are kind of hard to find, you know? I can't believe I wasn't stupid enough to throw it away.

So the wheels will be off and the forks will be off and I don't have a work stand of any real type, so I think I'm going to try and build some kind of carrier or stand to hold this thing.

I've got a carpenter's bench I built in 7th grade that might get enlisted, but I'm still not sure about how to support it so I can paint it.

It's really looking more and more like the whole thing is going to come apart. Something I really didn't want to do.
