Loose Sprocket
So I decided to change my gearing and put on a new rear sprocket. When I was retightening the nuts onto the studs on got stuck and now the stud spins freely when you try to undo the nut
. How can I get this off? Would it be possible to just drill + tap through the sprocket and the hub and just put a bolt into there? Do I need a new hub? Thanks in advance ps its been red locktited worldrider555 screwed with this post 12-19-2007 at 06:30 PM |

Umm the nut is now turning with the stud .. no matter what way you turn it? Then the sud thread is stripped .. probably in the hub ..
Whatever... You need to dissassemble the thing to see what has been damaged . If the nut is fixed on the stud and they both turn together then try turning so it should come off .. place a screw driver under the nut as you do this to 'help' it come out .. slowly does it Once it is dissassembled then you shoud be able to see where the damage is .. if it is in the hub .. a helicoil may be the answer .. drilling it out and puting in a bolt would depend on the amount of room ... the DR650s have bolts all the way through.. |

Red loctite, get out the torch and heat it up to deactivate the thread lock.
