yeah i know,,,there's only so much of us to go around for all the requests we get....

FYI,,these should be able to use the Aprillia CapoNord 2.5x19 and 4 x17 tubeless hoops,,,,we can still do the sealing techniques for other safety beaded rims,,,,

and yes there will be front hubs for the 650 and the 1000.....the one pictured is for the 1000.

the rear wheels are interchangeable according to the micro-fiche...

will keep ya posted

update on the billet V-strom hubs..

so i just got the word form RAD... the black hub pictured is available and it's for the 1000 Vstrom ,,the 650 is a bit narrower and sport sa speedo drive ...

we were under the assumption the rear wheels were the same because my kid sez they have the same part number ..RAD doesn't think so..we are resolving it ..the rest of the hubs should be done within the month...

better late than never.???...BETTER RIGHT THAN WRONG!!!

tis winter and that's when many of the machine shops get a lil breather and have the time to do those special projects like this...

at times i wish i could just solve every request,,,and theirs only so much time,,,i have to be realistic /pragmatic in how we allocate it ,,,BWOE if i have a hundred times as many requests for BMW /KTM products it behooves me to keep my troopies engaged in cost effective investments of our time and energies ,,,,i'm sure most of you can relate to this.

thanks for understanding,,,
woody

Woody, Are the rear hubs finished for the 650 yet? I am building a DL/DS and sure would like to go wire wheel in the rear to complement the 19 wire wheel in the front. Sending an email to the shop.
Thanks,
Assfault

I am awaiting a call back to place my order for a set for my project DL.
Anybody have a preferance between a 17 or 18 rear rim size?
Pro's - Con's ?
Woody, what would you use?
Thanks,
Assfault

sorry assfault,,,it's been another week from hell,,,we didn't get the final $$$ number yet from RAD if the total price for an F800GS hub which is similar and comes with sprocket carrier and dampeners is $549, then i'd guess ya better set at least $400-450 aside for this hub,,,remember it was designed to recycle your oem sprocket carrier and dampeners.

i'll take your order any time,,,i have no idea if the taller 140/80x18 tire will fit ,,it is at least 2''bigger in diameter so it will make your gearing taller...you'll need to drop the CS at least one tooth or add 3 more in the rear

if you are doing mostly fire roads and lot's of slab work,,,, well the 4.25x17 will be fine.... if more off-road, than my recommendation is the slightly narrower 3.5x17,,,pulls the sidewalls in a bit ,,,better traction cornering in the dirt and less prone to getting bent,,,same old story

i have one in stock,,, black as pictured....what color rim ya want???

holler woody

Is there also an ABS version? If not, I think it would be an very easy modification to the hubs. Only thing that would change is (maybe) the hole circle for front brake disks and some additional holes for ABS sensor disk. On rear hub, Brake disk is unchanged, only the senor disk holes should be added.

I can provide dimensions from my DL650AK7 if somebody is interested.
