There's still plenty out there. Layla's back on the water.

Layla and I went for a boat ride. Luckily, I caught a ride pretty quick. We made back in time for her coiffure. That's enough time for...A lap around Lake James.

At this point, I thought Lucky wanted to bite off more than just a Lake James loop.

I'm in. Someone needs to call the day before and make sure that they are open. I heard they close down the trails due to inclement weather (wimps)!!! What time? If anyone is coming up 321 from char etc.. can meet at my house (1.5 miles from 321/40 interchange) and pool. bpq, are you going to run your 12 or 13 there, never ridden the trails, don't know if I should gear it down like brown?

I'm still here. My motorcycles haven't moved for the most part. But the creeks have been running. Thanks to Amos for the photo. This is the same creek you cross to get into Richlands.

Change the oil, check the chain/sprockets, air up the tires.

I don't think that I'd ever be able to find my willy again after that!

The weather has been nice here for a few days...I had all 5 bikes out for a ride and some maint. on Monday. It was too wet to go off road though...but the gravel was nice and dust-free.

Not sure I can make it to Brushy....just noticed yesterday that the truck has a leaky brake cylinder. I need a dry day to get that work done.....

Snow is forecast for this weekend and next weekend. Good grief!

I did manage to sneak in a commute to work on my wife's bike a couple of times this week. It got knocked by a maple tree during the Christmas ice storm. She was pissed. After resetting the bars and putting the stock windshield back on, it seems to be okay.

Hey guys, I've been on Advrider for a couple years now and have never ventured this far East so I don't know the area at all. I just moved to Greensboro for work (Honda Aircraft) and I'm looking forward to getting to know a whole new part of the country. I don't know anyone out here so I was hoping a post on here would get me started with meeting people.
Couple of questions...
Any local dualsport forums?
What types of bikes work well for purely offroad here?
How hard is it to plate a "dirtbike"
How far from Greensboro should I expect to go before I can get into some gravel roads that have trails running off of them?
What are the better dealers and shops in the area?
Are there any MC tracks around? I have 2 sons with 2 smokes that will be out here this summer and I'd like to take them out riding. Tracks and/or riding areas..

Thanks in advance for the help guys. Looking forward to getting out in the woods here. Oh, and I'm looking for a bike. I'm thinking a bigger dualsport for getting to know the area and maybe a smaller/older bike for the offroad days.

Cheers,
Brian
