Eastern Europe from Germany

So I am leaving in a few weeks for this massive trip east. As you can see, we will be headed out from Germany and as far east as Romania where we will head south to the Albanian coast and then zig-zag our way up the coast to Venice and then back home. It's a little over 6,100 kms. (About 3,800 miles for my fellow Americans). I gotta be honest. I am pretty nervous about some the legs of this trip. Most noted is the route I have chosen for Albania to Montenegro. It looks pretty insane. Here is a clip of some of it. And here is a link to the Google Maps route.

I invite anyone out there that has any experience with this part of our planet to chime in and (hopefully) comfort me a little.

When you are near Venice, I live in Concordia Sagittaria/Portogruaro… so leave a message here, if I'm free we'll take a beer!

Looks like a great adventure

If you need help planning this trip, I'll move this thread to the Trip Planning forum and then when the ride is underway or after it's done, you can post your ride report here..

Thanks. I have all of it planned already. All necessary reservations are already made and now I am just making some minor little detail changes based on input from places like this and some FB pages.

that's the tethi loop. i did it last year and honestly, i did not think it was all that bad. It has become pretty well traveled by adventure riders. A friend from Montenegro did it on a big and heavy 1200 GS.
Have a look at my ride report.

Hey check this RR out and maybe PM Russ the OP. He's been all through Eastern EU and looks like you might be heading to some of the places he's written about.

I was in Albania in 2004 and several times in Montenegro. It is fine, don't worry. The food is splendid though.
