Sorry I don't know the story, it was like this when I picked it up two months ago. The guy I got it from said he got it from a neighbor a few years back as a project bike and even he didn't know the story behind it. Previous owner bought an airbox, tank, seat and side panels off Ebay. I'm pretty sure that all the origanal parts were victims of that blast, but hey at least the engine held up. This is my winter project this year. The FedEx truck stopped buy last week with a very large box from Dillon Brothers Motorsports in Omaha. You would be suprised as I was by whats still available from Suzuki for the older bikes.

With good tires an IT 465 will throw a rock as big as a grapefruit 50 yards...

I thought I'd send along a photo of my latest 2 stroke. Some assembly required. It's a 1976 Suzuki GT500A and once complete will serve as my street touring bike. (a couple of weeks back I posted my 76 DT400C that serves as commuter and gravel road explorer)
The GT will get whatever it needs to be a reliable, safe, daily rider starting with a complete engine teardown. The cosmetics are not as important to me and I prefer to have original paint with some patina rather than a glossy re-do on my bikes.

So....please educate me, why does the water-buffalo not have the "death on a stick" reputation of the Kawa 750?

Basically the gt750 water buffalo was a sport touring bike. the kawasaki 750 was a sport bike with an emphasis on strait line performance

They were both evil bikes, but in their own way...
The GT750 was far from the best handling and the H2 had more power than the chassis could handle. Both wiggled a lot, but in different ways.
