A little cypress swamp about 9-10 miles South of 267 on 344. If you follow the road on GE you'll see it.

I hunt that area and have for 16 years now...

The spot Buzz took the picture is a great crossing for bucks and there have been quite a few killed right there....

The Dodge blocking the bridge had been used to winch the truck enough to keep it from sliding deeper in the creek and drowing the trapped occupant.

The driver and the dogs got out pretty quickly and were unhurt.

We couldn't get the passenger out until Wakulla County arrived with "Jaws of Life" to get the passenger door off but we tried and tried and were afraid the trapped occupant would succumb to hypothermia or drown before they arrived about 45 minutes after they were called.

We had three off duty firemen and a policeman that were all hunters, on the scene from about 5 minutes after his steering broke and he rolled it into the creek until the trapped passenger was extracted.

It rained all day that day and everyone was pretty miserable but it all turned out pretty well considering.

As you can imagine... That bridge is now called "truck wreck bridge" and it actually crosses one of the northern branches of the Sopchoppy river.
