New Tallahassee area riders - Page 2

First weekend in April is the tail end of spring break, which means one of two things for me:
1) Wife will be out of town and I can't go because I have to stay home with the kids
2) Wife will be back in town by then and I will have all sorts of kid credit from having taken the entire week off to spend with them so I can go.

We could either set up at Moore lake, it's totally primitive but is closer to civilization and OHV trails...

or The Porter Lake area and it has restrooms and water. Porter Lake is deeper into the forest but closer to Tate's Hell and that trail system.

I'll try and take pictures of both areas this weekend.

Do you guys ever do any street rides? And camping? Or are you guys strictly off roading, adventure type riders, i know the forum is aventure rider but i just wanna meet up with some ppl and ride

OHHH DOUBT IT....holding a 700+ pound bike in the mud and dirt is out....it's hard enough getting down the road i live on (dirt road) after a hard rain lol

Good thread, HTSRocker! I've been away from riding for too freaking long! I miss the pig

but the F650GS will have to do until I can afford a F800GS.

A few words of wisdom for those who have not ridden up here:
1) sand sucks but doesn't hurt so bad when you dump your bike
2) be very careful when riding with Scott... he tends to forget where the road is

I can probably make it the 4th, 5th, and 6th. I get off 2 pm on Friday the 4th. It looks like it takes about 4 hours on the Slab, is that right?

I might be able to get my son to bring a truck with some fire wood, ice, some small coolers a tarp etc...nothing like JD would do. Maybe a smoker and a pork butt. You guys know how to take care of yourselves.

Speaking up. I can't make it, much as I'd like to. The wife is going to be out of town, so I got the kiddies. I want to get up there before it's too damn hot again, though. Maybe later in April for me?
