I figured it out... I rode 40 miles on forest roads and trails yesterday in a moderate sprinkle on my KLX and you just wanted to show me how real men do it...

Not moto related but ADV quality nevertheless...
While going in to set up my stand Saturday I walk within 40 yards of a sow bear and two cubs. That was kind of interesting considering my leg, 30+ lbs. of crap on my back just a bow in my hand.

Went back Wed morning before class and they came back - one of the cubs got within about 20 yards of my tree and just took his sweet time having breakfast.

An old Long Tom shot-gun, a sharp Barlow knife,
That panther would sure have the chase of his life

A little past moon down, the dogs struck the scent;

He opened his Barlow and grabbed him some moss;
A cut he made one way, another across;
He wrapped his leg tightly and tied it with string;
the sickness came on him, his body turned green.

When Tate was discovered, these words he did tell,
"My name is Old Tate, boys! I've just been in Hell!"
These few-spoken words were the last that he said;
His spirit, it left him. Old Tate, he was dead.

Oh by the way HTSRocker, you mentioned that your camera didn't like sand or water, and that was one of the primary reasons I bought one of the Olympus Stylus 1030SW. It is shock proof from 6', water proof to 30', dust proof, freeze proof way below the temps I will be riding in, and I put it on a Nikon range finder cord reel. If i happen to drop it, no worries it just slides back to my pack or jacket where ever I have it clipped.

Out here on HWY 20.

Blue 2006 Yamaha YZ450 dirt bike in like new condition.

White 2000(?) Yamaha YZ250F dirt bike in good condition.

Brown 2000 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 ATV in Average Condition

Padlocks cut off a shed and enclosed bike trailer sometime between noon yesterday and noon today.

Signs indicate they were rolled away by people on foot.

The owner is in the hospital and will have to call the Yamaha dealership tomorrow to have them look up the VIN's.

This is why I didn't ride with Scott today but I might well have chickened out. That was a RAIN and I am not a fan of LONG rides in heavy rains.

I would have gone in a heartbeat, had I known of the trip, and if I were welcome. Unfortunately, I didn't stumble on this thread until mid morning. The pictures are gorgeous and it's ironic that I've ridden for three decades in the NE of the ANF, and never once been in any of these western areas.

LDHunter, I'm gonna saddle up on my 640 around 0900 and head out your way. How about meeting up at Coe's landing ~1000. Can we get a cuppa there? I haven't been to that fish camp for a very long time, tho' it used to be the place from which we started the national enduro's, back when there was one. If ya can't make it, no sweat, I'm goin' either way.

We now have moved any and everything else of his that was worth taking to safer locations. I spent all day in the rain moving stuff and that's two days in a row of being out in the rain most of the day.

No fun at all...

I hate a damned thief and am packing serious heat and will be out looking for the perps today. Yes... I'm licensed.

We suspect that we know who they are (locals) and are just waiting for them to make one little screw up. All we want is the bikes and the atv back but it's never that simple.
