1984 kl600b carb

Hey yall. I just got a 1984 kl600b and I was told all it needed was a carb kit. Well some nimwit tore it up. So now I'm trying to find a carb and I'm not having any luck. I called 15 different salvage yards today and Nobody had one. But one person said a carb off I different bike might work. Maybe the klr600. Does anyone know of a different carb might work? Thx. I tried to search the other threads and couldn't find anything.

same carb as the klr650 (CVK40) except the jets are different. I think the needles are different too. heres the parts for the 600

if you change jets stick with all Kehin... or at least don't mix with other brands. I know for sure Dynojet jets are a different size with the same number.

I used to have one of those and had the same issue. Bought a carb from a KLR650 and it worked great. They're the same carb and I don't think they even have different jets, but it's been so many years that I can't be sure.

In 84 their were only 600's
I think Kawasaki switched to 650 in 87.

I had an 84, I'm still in therapy from it, . Never again.

I've never put a 650 carb on a 600, so thats why I didn't suggest it. not surprised that it would work with no modification. may not be as efficient, but should work.

fwiw....
600 carb came with a 138 main jet, n24c needle

650 carb has a 148 main, n31r needle
