And a new seat. The OEM one was quite flat.

The one that started it all for me when I was 19 years old. 82 GS1100 AKA-ViperG.

The one that I wanted when I was 19 years old, but not obtained until I was 45. Recently out of storage, an original time capsule purchased from the first owner. -California Cooley

another GS1000

My third GS. Previously I had a GS750 that I bought new and a GS550 that got me back into vintage bikes ten years ago.

This one is a 1979. Bought it for $800 in 2005, sold it in 2010 for $2000, bought it back in 2012 for $2000. I won't be selling it again!

Hey SEVISTON, I'm planning on being down at Indy this year again for the moto GP. And this time I will be bringing a Suzuki for the rolling vintage show...Just not sure if it will be a two stroke or four stroke yet.
Hope to see you there.

Busa,
My vote would be for a RGV or NSR 250. Your RZ350 would be perfect too. In the last couple of years small displacement smokers are definitely taking off at Indy. Or you could bring the CBX or GS thou and hang out with my Buffalo in the modified class. I have NEVER seen a resto/mod CBX there...

I wish I would have known Suzuki was putting on such a big thing last year, I would have took my GT750J and parked it by the matching big purple magazine cover copy....(the one in the last pic....)
Oh well....
I did see your bikes there that Saturday though...
This year for sure one or more of my bikes will be there....I was thinking my RGV SP (provided I find the right body work panels or decals to get it presentable).....But not sure how good it would be on the ride while hauling my girlfriend with that close ratio trans....if there are a number of stop and go's....

Yeah the Suzuki 50th Anniversary was really neat. Since you weren't there with the J model Bad Buffalo did his best to represent as his humble, little, impure self.

I was lucky & won the last iPad Suzuki gave away on Sunday by answering 3 questions about Suzuki's model history. I think it matches my Katana nicely.

So, I am pretty decently up on vintage Suzuki's both two stroke & four. I also have followed much of the dirt & road racing since the late 70's.
Judging by previous questions for other Suzuki swag given away earlier that day I thought I might have a chance to pull it off.

Such as....

"What Suzuki did Wes Cooley ride?"

"What was the first year for the RE5 Rotary?"

"Name the number of AMA SuperBike races Suzuki has won and and which Suzuki won them?"

"What does Hayabusa mean?"

"How many total GSXR's have ever been made since the models introduction?"

Etc, etc...

So my questions were really 3 questions with 5 sub parts. I jokingly asked if I could phone a friend and the Suzuki girl said "maybe if you need to."

Suzuki Girl: "OK I have three questions and you have to answer 2 out of 3 and all of their parts correctly to win the IPad. Can you name all of the CC levels in our Boulevard line?"

Me: (Thinking to myself you gotta be kidding me.) My reply: "Uhhhh... no!" So throw out that question.

Suzuki Girl: "OK you have two more her goes. Name all of the GSXR's and their displacements offered in our sport bike line."

Me: (I was thinking to myself are you kidding, can it be this easy...) "GSXR 600 (600cc), GSXR 750 (750cc), GSXR 1000 (1000cc)."

Suzuki Girl: "That is correct! Now for your last question can you name the model designation and their displacements in our V-strom line?"

Me (Thinking... Cha-Ching): "DL 650 (650cc), DL1000 (1000cc)."

Suzuki Girl: Congratulations you are correct.

I had know idea about the Boulevard line since I have never been a cruiser guy. However, I do know my sport bike & multi purpose bikes. Almost embarrassed to admit how easy the questions were.

Was leaking carbs. That's about it.
I spent lots of time cleaning and cleaning....
My wife enjoyed learning how to ride on it
