Send Rick an Email, his email addy is a few posts back. Even though he seems to watch the forums, you're bound to get a quicker response contacting him directly. He's got my shock right now, or maybe the anodizer does at this moment.

New batch very soon

I just got off the phone with Rick and he's had a few inquiries already so he'd like to do a batch in just a few weeks, sometime in early November.
If there's any interest from anyone here, shoot an e-mail to raceparts at motocd dot com to get on the mailing list for the shock rebuild. Let him know that you're interested in the DR650 shock rebuild and give him some contact info and he'll get back to you.

The costs for the rebuild will be $399 and the hard coating option will be determined by how many shocks he gets for the batch, he estimates it's going to be $60 or so.

Looking good

I've got " one in the oven" too. Can't wait to enjoy the DR on a different level.

I am waiting for some clevis parts so I can pre-assemble the shaft modules. I also have 13 sets of forks to get finished befor the bench is clear for the build. End of the month sound good?

We found ot we are now the #1 Racetech center in the country (in the World too, I think) on this past Friday. that is great news for a shop where I am doing most all the work (wrench turning). I do get behind so I want to be sure I can provide a reasonable turnaround before having folks take off the shocks and send them in. I we are at 35 DR shocks (Cogent re-engineered) and the list for the next build is growing. Cool stuff!

Xt225?

End of the month is fine by me.

You ever mess with a Yamaha XT225/TTR225 shock? I'm considering upgrading my XT's suspension and wondering if anything can be done with the stock shock similar to what you are doing with the DR shock. I can send you an extra shock I have to experiment with when I send you my DR shock if you're interested in playing with it.

A master and his craft is a beautiful thing to behold no matter what it is. You know you are good when people about have stroke when you go on vacation (speaking from experience).

It's Time

Re: the 225 nshock, i am sure I can doi something there. I am planning to beef up my Honda CRF 230 in the same way. I like that bike in the woods.

It is time for the DR 650 shocks to flock down to Cogent Dynamics for the magical transformation. I will email those of you who are on the list. Please spread the word if you can. I would like to have the shocks during the second week of December if that works for you folks!

Hey Rick,

Can I send you a shock without a spring? I have a spare so I wouldn't have to tie up my bike. Does it matter which spring you use? I have an Eichbach on the bike. Also the shock is probably toast.

Just checking.

Thanks
Jack

You can use any spring you want but if I have the spring, I can install it to make sure everything fits. We use a totally different spring clip and bottom clevis. I have sent out many with no spring and folks have mounted them with no problem in most cases.
