The deadline is really up to you guys. I can set one but it makes little difference to me. In a week? We need all the shocks in the shop before I can process then and send the bodies off to be coated. We are US cleaning them and honing them before sending them out. We have plenty of takers so this deal is on.

We can also offer fork work, new springs (eibach) and Racetech emulators at $369 installed with new fork oil. Return shipping of the forks $25 (lower 48). That's a deal!

I'm down for a shock rebuild. Probably a coating too. Any date works for me.

Thumb Group Buy on Shock Rebuild and Coating is a "GO"

The GROUP only applies to those who want to include the CERAMIC COATING.
Others can send their shock in at any time for the rebuild only.
Whether you include a new spring ($75) is up to you.

So far we have the following:

levity
ER70S-2
Crackenback
jtwind
Mfed
alonzo
Keith
SkunkWizard

The DEADLINE for shocks to be received by Rick in NC is Friday, Dec. 4 so the coating can be done as a batch job.

If your shock arrives after that there is no guarantee that you will be able to have the ceramic coating done.

We will NOT hold up the rest of the group.

Shocks should be back to you before Christmas!

HAPPY HOLIDAY RIDING!

Dec. 4, sounds like a plan. Thanks for putting this together.

I want to add that the Special $75 spring offer is only with this group buy. We can include non-coated shocks in the group but those would still need to fall into the same relative time frame. If shocks that do not need the coating come in for the $399 re-engineering we make the same offer on the spring.

Thanks guys!

Okay, i'm in, but first i have some important questions. Rick, how much is the return shipping to Vancouver, Canada? Do you use UPS or other? Also, what are the spring options (sorry, long thread if i missed it) I'm building an around the world travel bike. I'm around 180 lbs and i'll be packing around 100 lbs of fuel and luggage (just a round figure, Safari tank and full soft bags on the back. In the end it will most likely be more) I'm also working on a set of WP 4860's from a KTM Adventure onto the front, with dual disks, wheel and fairing, so over all, the bike will be much heavier than stock. Should i wait until the bike is done and i have a better idea about my final weight, or will a guess be close enough and i'll be able to adjust the pre-load later? Let me know and i'll send the shock out before the Dec.4 deadline. Thanx.

Ron,

No problem on the build and the spring. We have one of our DR shocks headed to Tere Del Fuago (sp) right now.

We find that USPS is the best way to ship to Canada (Aye?) because there can be some nasty broker fees with UPS or FedEx. Joyce is out right now but I think we are talking about $35 to ship back. We have a lot of shocks up your way.

I can make some suggestions on the bag mounting too.

Thanx Rick, I'll send you a detailed note of the bike weight and whatnot when I send you the shock. USPS is awesome while UPS like to rape us Canadians with brokerage fees. When I get closer to baggage racks I'll get in touch with you. Thanx!

Rick, when I send the shock in, I imagine that I should include a note about the group buy on ADV?

My DR sits in the corner of my shop like a wounded animal with a broken landing gear. I have to be strong, and tell her it's for the best but gather no moss.

(bump)

Thumb

Whelp, after lunch today, I took the shock off the DR (not touching the airbox or tube to the carb), stuffed it inna box and mailed it off to Cogent.

Hope I find all of the needle bearings.

First time in 40 years that I won't be on a stock Jap suspension, thanks to ADVrider.

Well I'm out - hopefully this won't screw up the group thing. Holiday plans have changed and the $$ has been diverted in other directions.

A note and contact information is a good thing!

We have a fair number of shocks that are here already, the group is fine.

Thanks folks!
