How did a petcock/or the sand???/beat me?TWAT,NWAT-UPAT-WMDSA mix and more,solo

I dedicated this ride to the memory of my FATHER who died last December.
I love you and miss you DAD!!!

I like to thank rokklym, cannonshot and anybody else who helped creating these routes.

This is my second year in a row when I could take a week off and go riding.Link for last year ride.

This year's plan was different, more "DS" type than "adventure".
I rode an 06Husky TE610 with new Michelin AC10 on front and rear.
I live in Indy and the Notrh Wisconsin Adventure Trail/NWAT/ and Upper Peninsula Adventure Trail/UPAT/ are both very far from me.
I decided to ride up there and back home thru the most exciting roads that I could find.
This is how the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail/TWAT/ and Wisconsin Michigan Dual Sport Adventure/WMDSA/ routes came in picture.
I had to plan accordingly to fulfill my weeklong vacation with two weekends, Labor Day and to make it back home in time.
My departure date was set on AUGUST 22nd Friday, after a short workday around 2PM.
I had spent a lot of time looking up campsites, and such in advence/there was a lot marked as waypoints, but I double checked/
so I knew where I should be every night/.
First short day I thought I'll make it to Peoria,IL.....and so on.
Everything was packed,I hoped for the best and prepared for the worst.
Ready to go!!!!:

Ohh The Michigan orv stickers instruction said to put on rear fender.
Well this bike basically has no rear fender space so it went up front.

1st day

1.day
The Big Day has arrived with a surprise. It was raining in the morning Which meant we didn't work.
OK!I can start early./so much planning for campsites hahaha/.
Looked like the rain will move out in about an hour so I waited.
And waited. My gear is waterproof/tested quiet a lot before/but I still wanted to start with a nice weather.
Then I waited some more to let the morning rush traffic go by.
At 9:00AM off I went:

I was gonna ride north first to pass the rain then west/I planned a direct NW route/.
Then on the road I decided to stick to the original route.
BAD!First it sprinkled than it rained AND the gear was no longer waterproof. Not a good start!
Every spring I recoat my tent with seamsealer and silicone, should've done with my gear too I guess.
Zig-zagged north and west trying to avoid rain but still caught the edge of it a few times.
To my biggest surprise a Google map planned route took me thru some gravel!

In Illinois they seem to build the silos huge and right in town.At one place it took up a block of the town.

Random Pic:

Then I run into the "Rise of the Machines":

I had that feeling being alone in the middle of the cornfield, and rainy.
They are really big:

Stopped for lunch in Bloomington,IL at Bandana's

A gentleman came and asked about my bike and riding so we talked a bit.I asked about the restaurant,He said it was good.
Indeed it was/rib/:

It was easy riding so I was not afraid to ride with a full belly.
Stopped at this place.Look at the fence.Interesting decoration.

Whats that spot on this Peoria Heights water tower?

Must be the world's biggest woodpecker.

Was glad to see a lot of these.

Never been here so a new state to be and ride in:

And camped here right where TWAT starts.

Long day:

More to come Good Night!
