Holy cripes, we're not THAT hard-core!

I bought my wife a Ninja 250 in January, and she's taking that on the trip. We have done a 2-up, 400-mile trip on the KLR, just for the fun (!) of it, but riding that way to Montana would be nuts.
Besides, with me being 6'2", and 260 lbs., I think that the bike would commit some sort of mechanical suicide.

Oh, that's not me scrammin on the R90S. That's John. He's much better lookin than me.

John has a thing for R90S's and '77-'78 R100RS's. I guess if you're gonna have a thing for airheads, you might as well have a thing for the nice ones, eh?

John likes to paint BMW's...

And John wanted some R90S bodywork for one of his projects...

And I wanted some /6 bodywork for one of mine...

So, this...

... became this.

Pretty sweet, eh?

Completely off the mark, but I thought I'd tell some people who might care (and who have assisted me immeasureably).

I got my blue '75 R90/6 out on the road today for a test ride. It's the first miles her wheels have rolled under her own power in my memory. She hasn't run for at least three years. I bought her non-running and have been tinkering along slowly.

More to come. Now back to relevance.

You're absolutely correct. Thats pretty darned sweet and considering the hassle of selling the parts piecemeal, you're way ahead of the game.

What are you going to do about a seat? Decent R90 seats are pretty scarce these days and you're going to want some padding!

A stock seat was part of the deal. It's not in bad shape either, with a solid clean pan. I'm either going to continue looking for a Corbin or try to mod the stock seat with some denser foam ala Corbin.

I want to see more pics of your bike.
