Buy!

Good thing it's probably at least 1500 miles from me.

That's too good of a price to be true honestly.
I'd be skeptical.
I paid more for one in muuuuuch worse condition.

You've GOT to follow up on this.

Lornce, run, don't walk, to nail that down. It might be too good to be true, but you won't know unless you look. I lucked into a similar situation last week, and another boxer's arrived in my garage, at a great price.

Are you nuts? There's at least 6 ADVrider types calling on this bike to buy it from underneath you.

Show up at the seller's location tomorrow morning early with $1600 and buy that beauty. Whatever's wrong with her, we can help you. You just have to do the work.

Gosh Lornce, Thats a good question and I think that you should mull things over for a few days.

I mean, that bike isn't even running.

I only just figured out your user name reads "my mind's okay".

I always thought it was "my mind sock".

So, are these old R90's any good?

Looks like a good deal. Looks like some s or later bits; ie: tank, seat, fairing, and dual disc combo (if you're for all original). But I wouldn't turn it down. It's only 8 hours from me........

The r90 is my dream bike and I own it. Needless to say, after stripping it down to every last nut and bolt, it's still my dream bike.
I love me 74' r90 and hope I get to pass it down to my kids

Wow. You guys are really hot on this bike.

I see a non-runner, sitting two+ years, weakest 5-speed transmission ever, no Nikasil and very few used cylinder options (2 years only, ever, on the small R90 cylinders) and 78k on existing ones, probably rusted seat pan and frame rust.

OK, the S fairing and luggage are nice.

It's probably an OK value but why the hysteria?

Nope...you'd better bring that one to me, you don't want a 74 anyways, they are full of trouble.

Anton,

Do your comments apply specifically to the '74 R90 or to the R90 series as a whole? Specifically about the small R90 cylinders and the weakest 5 spd ever.

I know my '75 R90 sported some changes but I am not sure if BMW fixed the prominent problems you listed for Lornce.
