Heads up on saddles and saddle bags.

while looking on the DRZ 400 pages I came across these guys, and thought of my fellow XR riders.

http://fishersaddlebags.com/

I hadn't heard of them, probably because we are starved of decent kit over here in the UK, but they look good, and the prices are keen.

Hope this is of use.

I'm reading this about a month late, but I just had something of a brainstorm regarding adjusting idle with an IMS tank (I run one of these as well). I've fought this for years (cramped, burnt knuckles...). It just occurred to me that I could probably find a little length of tubing that would fit over the knurls on the idle adjust screw. I'm going to go to the garage right now and get a little piece of tube, slip it on, and cut it off so I can reach it to adjust without cramming my hand in there.

Some MODs

While I had my camera with me, took a couple of pix of some of the mods I have on the xr..

my risers are just simple round billet aluminum abt 1 inch high..

and of course, a fork brace

a couple of side case protectors..I see alot of XR4's with nothing on the sides.. I do not know if these are even available anymore

my headlite protector..just a simple piece of plexy glass with velco..helps to protect that glass headlite

I've been wondering what those black rubber/plastic things that came with my bike were. I'll have to throw them on there, I've already broke one case cover.

I already have a big blob of JB Weld covering the "H" in Honda on the clutch cover from a rock puncture.

Has anyone on here ever broke their rear brake caliper bracket where it slips over the axle? Just wondering if this was a common break? I went riding over the weekend and the guy behind me was trying to get my attention after I slid backwards down a hill (because by rear brake didn't seem to be working) and yelled up to me, "Hey! Your rear brake fell off!!" I looked down and saw it dangling by the brake line. I still have no idea how it physically was able to get itself out of the slider. The back half of the upside-down "U" that drops over the axle shaft broke right at the steel locating pin. I'll post pics tomorrow.
