Bent front axle

I just pulled the front wheel off my '02 XR400 to change the tire and bearings, and noticed that the front axle is slightly bent. How critical is this? I never would have noticed it if I didn't pull the wheel.

I bought the bike used, and the previous owner must have hit/landed pretty hard to bend it.

Thanks- Bob

Get a new one and watch your bearing life increase 10 fold.

Why not? Jean Azevedo used a stock pipe in Dakar, too-

I guess you don't choose an XR400 for the Dakar for it's speed and power anyway... what's a couple more horsepower?

I'd bet they're one of the more trouble free bikes in the Dakar, though.

New to me

Just picked up a new to me 96 XR400. Sat in the guys garage for a long time ridden very little. I'd like to put a rack on it, where's a good place to get one? Also would like to find a desert tank. I probably am going to have to sell something before this thing will fit in my garage sooo..
Anybody need a DR750 also known as a DR big.

Oh, but your website is kind of weird to navigate. easy, but weird.
I find a lot of web sites require too much clicking through and hunting around to find what you are looking for. We wanted potential browsers to be able to get from any page on the site to any other page on the site with only one click. It actually works that way for about 95% of the site. There are a few sections where you could go in a couple of pages deep but even there you can get nearly anywhere else on the site with one click. We've been working on a new format. Same basic layout but improved code, better photos, more selection, etc. Just got the new version up and running today. --> ProCycle
