single exhaust cannister?
Hey, Ned, have you come up with a new supplier for he single exhaust cannister? I'm getting close to wanting a lighter, cooler exhaust!
And what jet kit do you recommend for the 2-into-1 and the flow through exhaust?

Bad news, good news.
I know, I know, I promised better photos. I've been procrastinating because I have bad news to share: I made an error in measurement which results in the chain guard being able to hit the tank on some years of Adventure. Here's a picture of an 07 990 at metal to metal shock bottom (bike has a 45T sprocket):
![]() I don't think this acceptable. So, I'm going to have the mold updated to give more space in this area (which will reduce capacity somewhat, but it should still be over 2 gallons). This obviously introduces a delay, how much of one I don't know because the company is on vacation this week, of course you find these things out when people are on vacation, how else could it work? The good news: The current mold tank is perfect for the Superenduro, and there is no possibility of interference. So, I'm going to have 20 SE-only tanks made, which I should receive within the next 2-3 weeks. They will be black, unlike the prototype which is natural plastic. The price is going to be $395.00 including all mounting brackets, fuel lines and fittings, petcock, fuel cap, and check valve. As a reward for grabbing one from this first batch, and because I'm so frickin' overdue, I'm going to include a CRC fuel line quick release, the same spec as the one that you already have from the fuel pump to the carbs on the SE, which will make it easy to take the tank off for rides you don't need it for. Kurt at Blackdog can't carry the tanks because of insurance, so ordering will be on advtank.com (which is not yet operational). As soon as the site is up and running, I'll post here and you can get your name in the queue, or you can send me an email (ned at advtank dot com) and I'll let you know as soon as the website is running. Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for your patience! What started as a "oh, this'll be cool" project has eclipsed into a massive sink of time and energy, but I hope it's worth it to be able to use the SE as we want.

Jetting: Dyno runs with O2 sensors show very little change in mixture between 2 aftermarket exhausts, and a single. If you're going from stock to a single aftermarket can, I've heard great things about the Head2Wind kit but haven't tried it myself. Or, you can try: 160 F 165 R 2nd Clip position AFM 2.75 turns Float 3.5mm (takes stumble out of woops) Pilot 42 Which a friend at sea level has had great luck with. I'm a bit leaner, but my bike is tuned for 6000' +. Hope that helps...

G'day Ned
Do you think the clearance problem on the ADV is due to the different sub frame, making the tank lower, or the reduced rear suspension hieght? I have a new S model and want to add extra fuel to the rear end. Previously I had a 950 with Safari tanks but unfortunately had a little accident and it no longer exists. If you think the tanks would suite the S, I would be interested in being an Aussie customer, or crash test dummie, whatever.

In any event, the tank will be corrected ASAP and then it will fit all ADV's. In the near term, I'm not comfortable selling the first run to anything but SE owners, nor will I have the correct brackets made in time.

I can't wait to get mine, I hope I'll get it before my next trip to Morocco
Good work ned, this rear tank looks top quality Any discount if we buy the 2-in-1 exhaust and the rear tank at the same time ? ![]() edit: sorry if you already answered that question but does the cap on the rear tank come with a key to secure it ? and how does you connect the rear tank on the 990 to the stock fuel line ?
