I find it hard to believe that everyone who owns a 950/990 is not on board with this product. It is so nice to have the extra range sans gas cans tied to the bike. Neduro tank, 2 to 1 and Wings exhaust, simply AWESOME!!! Thanks Ned.

Ned,

In. After spending 2 weeks in baja carrying gas like this:

And looking back and seeing this while still over 100 miles from gas :

Homer J had your tank and had no worries about fuel. I decided I have to have one for big expeditions like this.

I'm hoping to avoid a repeat of this.

Fail! How did that happen, Duke?

On to the topic at hand:

I've had a bunch of emails over the weekend about the tank, it looks like there might be enough takers to get a batch made.

Here's how the process will work. Once I confirm timeline and so on with the vendor, I'll put a "pre-order" product up on the advtank website for both the tanks and 2 into 1's, that includes a schedule. The price will be $50 payable now (for each item you want), the balance (less the $50 discount on each item) is due before I ship the product.

The purpose of the prepayment is to make sure people are serious about wanting one, so there are no refunds if you change your mind in the interim. If I miss the timeline, however, obviously the prepayment will be refunded in full.

If everyone who has emailed saying they want one follows up with a pre-order, we have just enough interest to make the order.

The pre-order offer will stand for about 2 weeks, so anyone that wants to take advantage of the discount will have that window to place an order. After that, the pre-order product will disappear and the tanks will go back to the standard price.

Any questions, ask away!

And thanks, everyone, for the interest and compliments on the product. It is very nice to hear others appreciate the option, and to see that the tanks have gone some interesting places!

Ahhh... so I don't have to read all the posts... what is the current price for the tank and the 2-1 pipe?

I have the Safari tank on my SE, but there are still times when 200 miles is not quite enough...

If you preorder, the tank is $345 (instead of $395) and the 2 into 1 is $200 (instead of $250).

There is never enough gas, is there?

Ned what are the fitment probems with the tank and happytrails side racks? Is it just a modification to the mount to the passanger peg . I haven't replied in the affirmative yet but if I can resolve this issue without completely making a new rack I would be interested.

It's not bad (if anything that requires cutting/ welding is not bad).

On the left side, you cut the bracket where it goes forward toward the passenger peg, eliminate the bent portion, and tie it in to the front of the frame.

Cuttin' and weldin are part of my life I just didn't want to have to completely redesign the whole thing. It would be easier to build a tank out of alum. So put me in for one tank.
Ditto on the post it here when you need the $50 down so I don't miss it. Or a email would work even better but would be more work for you.

Will do. Both a post here, and an email to everyone that has contacted me at ned@advtank dot com.

is there a quick list of the pannier rack/system that are not "fully" compatible. By that, I mean a list that shows which ones need cutting/welding/modifications. I've already signed up for a tank from Ned and I am purchasing a pannier system. I like the happy trails panniers but it seems that I'd need to modify the rack and I don't have the tools to do that at this time. Thank you much in advance.
